Not forgetting the occasional Non-appreciation of the curve balls life sometimes throws us, which have nothing to do with SCD.
Absolutely - when life feels like a litter tray, the DOTs are brilliant!

I think perhaps reading the posts on this thread that it probably wouldnt be a bad thing if we ALL looked at what were were posting a little more closely before pressing the post quick reply button. Leaving aside the odd strange person that bursts into the forum posts something horrible and departs just as quickly, we are mostly reasonable people so perhaps we should all try to move forward by turning down a notch on the 'I hate Jason, Harry or Chelsee posts' and others trying to be less sensitive (I fall into this camp this series). Posters that frequent the same threads, get to know each others writing styles and I think perhaps some posters have thought what they were saying was being taken as funny when it wasnt because we didnt understand the humour. Its the season of good will and only a week left of Strictly so lets all give it a try eh ??

Checks for spelink and gramattica errors....reads back....oh bum press post quick reply

It's Chelsee, my dear.

Harry isn't bad, he's just not as good in his latin generally compared with Chelsee.

yes Jan I do agree with you but I really object to being lectured AT not by you) and accused of being something I am not .

I have typed and deleted so many ends to this post , which ever way I go it seems to get personal which it isn't meant to be. I would just say that for me I have had times when people have posted really dreadful things about people I like. have been upset about that but dont feel the need to personally attack the poster that did it, That is what I absolutely hate.

I was actually just giving you a little insight as to why your repeated questions with regard to Jason were not being responded to numerously, I spend far more time reading the forum than posting tbh, if I personally feel that a poster is far too biased ( and I gauge this by the tone and nature of their posts) then its unlikely that I am ever going to try and debate with what is essentially a closed mind.

I leave you to your mocking in the AT thread, its not my cuppa tea, though I am amused as to why so many from there post out here then run back and repeat whats said to the rest of the clique.....its like a little gang.
We are mostly there for our own amusement, so pleased that you find it amusing too.

It is a bit tiresome to be called jealous, hateful, vindictive, self-obsessed, spotty-arsed bitches. Really, the things posters on this board call us are sometimes worse than the things we say about the celebs (although mostly they don't say it directly to the Non App posters). Just my humble opinion, but most of the things we say are said with humor and some mockery of the show and contestants.

I post regularly in the non appreciation thread as I find it suits my sense of humour

I would hate to think that I could only ever post in there, at times I come out onto the main forum to ask a question and sometimes because I have asked a question about a contestant have received very personal abuse and at one point had to wait for 3 days before anyone answered a simple question.

What some people do not seem to realise that to ask a question after a comment that is posted is not a hostile action

I enjoy good discussions and learning new things, yesterday and today I posted things following comments from a poster on a subject that I knew something about ( a very rare thing) and I was able to change someone mind about something due to that information. Thank you Jan Buddy and Richmond Blue I wish all posters could be so polite and we could have a forum where people were able to discuss the series instead of endlessly attacking not only the contestants but the other posters
Why thankyou, that's most kind. Can I quote you, or get you to write me a reference ?

I like a joke and don't mind a bit of the "knock about" that goes on here, providing it remains good natured. But if someone does post a "serious" opinion or critique of the dancing, something technical, or associated with the choreography, then I'm keen to learn.
I'm no expert, and don't pretend to be..though over the years I do believe I've seen enough to know what constitutes a "good dance" visually. What I don't know are the required elements, and precise techniques of each dance, so I'm probably easily fooled by "showboating". It's then that I appreciate a discussion with the experts on here.

ps..I've never tried the "non-appreciation" thread, thought it was a bit cliquey. Is it ladies only, or can you sign me in at the door ?

We have a few people who really know their stuff in AT - between dancing it for years, up to teaching it. A regular poster is a former dancer teacher; others know a lot from their armchairs, some just know what they like. So you can get a good discussion on technique. For example, sofakat had interesting things to say about the pauses used in flamenco, explaining why the hesitations in Chelsee's PD weren't mistakes. You should come in, say hello

I love pasties !..I was thinking of changing my name to Ginster.

I'm afraid my feet are tiny, my parents were devotees of the Chinese practice of foot binding, but my little lotus slippers are a knock-out.

Bognor ?..Bugger Bognor..but I'm not that way inclined myself, straight hot blooded male here ( or more Luke-warm blooded to be honest)

Surely nobody is crying out for appreciation in the non-appreciation thread ? I want to be loathed with a passion.

Ginsters

tiny feet

Bognor is where you go when you have gone over the line and place we hover about avoiding sometimes people have to hang on to our ankles when we get too unappreciative

as a final interview question what do you think of gavin henson

Goran Ivanisavic

and Mortan harkett

\if you have any opinion on those we can really get to know one another

Gavin Henson..my opinion would have to be sent via a PM, suffice to say, I'm not a fan. I'm half Welsh (there you are, you've got me confessing stuff already. you Jezebel !) and not many people from the valleys have much time for the preening creep.

Goran..great guy, exciting player. one of my favourites. But I also liked McEnroe and think Federer is the best I've ever seen..does that count against me ?

Mortan Harkett..Who he ?..that was my first response, so I'm guessing no brownie points. But I've Googled, he was the lead singer of A-ha. Well, he's Norwegian and I've got nothing against them. they send us a Christmas tree every year, that must count for something.

Not appreciative enough, but you can come in and improve your technique!

Right, I'm off to bed once I've fed Morton - I keep him in a cage in my kitchen, just so I can look at him because he is a perfect specimen of man!

I'll see your Morten chappy and raise you Andy Garcia ...... ooer missus I just came over a bit funny.

The non appreciation thread is better than paying for a shrink and you can vent all you want. It is my haven from the world of sickly specialness and treacly sweet loveliness. My prickly backbiting nature is acceptable there .... nay it's actually normal !

Pity I have to go to work every day and can't join in properly

I thought my posts were addressing the topic of this thread tbh, and were specifically addressing why you felt you could not get an answer to to a question you were repeatedly asking about Jason, if you have me on ignore because I chose to address your points in what I thought an honest and unoffensive way thats your perogative, Its hardly worth it though, I dont post that much on here and will be gone as soon as the comp is over.
Offending posters was never my intention and I have just reviwed my posts of last night.........really cant see what you mean tbh...........if any gentle minded souls like me on here were offended then I of course apologise to them, and if by saying that I dont find ripping apart the celebs personalities and mannerisms funny makes me superior...........then so be it, I guess.

When the posts are not so personal or vindictictive towards the celebs I could agree, its a positive to have a place to vent and non appreciate and share humour, its the low base of it thats not to my taste.
And its not just Jason, though he comes in for the larger share, I have hardly been on here the last couple of series but have been shocked at what I read for the type of show it is. Thats my opinion for what its worth .
Trinny and Susannah assured me that if I followed their advice no one would ever notice my low base.

Rushes off to Smiths to see if can claim money back

I'm really sorry you feel that way, lots of people have said that this year and yet we've had loads of new posters join us.

I guess if you're a Jason fan then it would be difficult to tiptoe in but honestly if you came in and told us all to shut up, he was the sexiest most interesting man on the planet, when we finished laughing we'd listen to what you have to say. Honest.

Everyone has their favourites and yuckies on the thread and it's different for everyone but everyone is allowed to like/dislike whoever they want, I promise. Lots like Chelsee/Pasha, some like Holly/Artem, a couple like Harry but he's too boring to find much to unappreciate, I didn't like anyone, so I've been unappreciative about everyone apart from Artem. But hey, if you want to come in and say that Artem is an idiot who can't dance and can't choreograph and is too miserable to ever be seen on tv again, someone in there would agree with you.

But this long ramble is my way of saying ANYONE is welcome. We keep being called cliquey, but that's not our fault, we're probably the main thread on the main board and we talk to each other every day, we're cyber-friends, we laugh, we cry, we talk about our days, our worries, our families and men we fancy and anyone is welcome to join us.

We appreciate we're not for everyone but if you want to pop by Shuddupfluffy will put some pasties on for you.
Maybe I will later this week although pasties may not be a good idea calorie wise before Xmas . But this is why I hesitated to mention the thread, because actually it is no more cliquey than any of the others which may also expect certain behaviours. Also sometimes I might feel a bit sensitive if I post on a regular thread and seem to be ignored when actually the discussion has just moved on and the post missed (that hasn't really happened on 'non-appreciation' anyway). All in all there are posters across all the threads who I like and that's what keeps me here.
(btw I'm not a Jason fan! More a Chelsee/Pasha and recently converted Harry/Aliona fan, but fairly fickle anyway.)

Thanks for that post. I think you're entirely right. any long running thread has a core group of posters that keep it going and in jokes and that sort of stuff.People do ebcome genuine friends and so it can seem cliquey. I think the thing is as Alli says if people do get ignore, it's not a question of "let us shun the newbie who dares cross our threshold" but more often things have moved on and I think we sometimes forget that it is daunting typing that first post and then no-one notices and you kind of think "oh well..." and shuffle off

so yeh try and pop in, we have have some low calories pasties somewhere )

But even the real ballroom dancers on here - and some of them are teachers agreed that Lisa was over rated by the judges and in the opinion of many on here wasn't worthy of her place in the final at the expense of Tom and/ or Austin.

Her unmerited place in the final was the reason so many detested the dance off, as the judges saved her several times against worthier opposition - and the fact that she appeared in so many dance offs clearly meant that she was not getting the public votes, and no matter what she did - she was out once the judges couldn't save her - hence why she was first out in the final.

This time round we have (IMHO) got the 3 best dancers in the final - all are likeable and I don't care which of them wins - they ALL deserve it!
Ahem to that - I was left wondering though if I'm alone in thinking Chelsee's Paso was overmarked - don't get me wrong I have loved a lot of her dances but that one in particular I didn't think was all that.

Lisa Snowden served one useful purpose for me and that was helping me a Mavian understand the Gethinities rage of the previous year - I was not a happy bunny when Austin was eliminated. The judges over-marking of Lisa was also counter-productive people don't remember what a good ballroom dancer she was now - only how chronically over-marked she was.

I prefered her Jive and A. Smooth, the Paso was still great but I think something with the fan broke as if you look at the training from ITTs it is nearly always open in the dance it wasn't (maybe it preoccupied her a bit). That being said it was better executed than Harry's Charleston which got 39 and there you have the problem no maneuverability with the judges scoring from dance 1
