Re: the highest-scoring rule?

This could really harm her chances IMO. Would much rather see her Jive and Quickstep again than the same combo of AS/Paso.

Under the rules I'd see them all repeating a dance from the semi. Chelsee Paso, Jason A.Tango, Harry Charelston as his Latin choice. The rule has put them into a corner

Silly rule, I guess. Would rather see improvements to dances performed earlier on. It's just a shame that - as it stands - Chelsee and Pasha have no choice BUT to perform AS/Paso again

Perhaps it'll be Paso (HS) and either Jive or QS (for favourite)?

I don't think highest scoring is a hard and fast rule. Otherwise last year Matt would have been performing ballroom tango (38) from the semis and not Viennese waltz (think that got 35) in the final. Of course, I'd have preferred it if he had done tango but it shows it wasn't a highest scoring rule.

Actually in previous years I think you couldn't repeat a dance from the semi in the final and that's what changed last year...

Do they have to do both?
Surely just the Paso as the highest scoring dance.

I think its her favourite Latin and ballroom? Or am I wrong?
I might be in minority but I would love to see her AS again, I think it was exquisite shame for the split though, it would have been perfect imo.

Does it matter? she's not going to win.

I hope Chelsee performs the jive again! Loved that dance and this time I hope Pasha does not dress up as shrek.

For me it would be the Quick Step, but jive would be fine. There's the smoulder and drama of the Paso, the 'fastness' of either QS or jive, the svelte qualities of VW (or rumba) and then the 'funky' Showdance. Sounds like they'd have all bases covered.

Even if it was the case- because Craigs 8 balanced out Alesha's 10, Chelsee's AS scored the same as her Quickstep where she got straight 9s so she may still perform that

Last year they only had to do one highest scoring dance, latin or ballroom not both like in previous years, the other dance was their favourite regardless of the score.

Matt did Samba as his highest scoring dance, V.Waltz as his favorite.

Which for all of them was conveniently in the other discipline

I'd thought their AS scored higher than the Quickstep, silly me! The QS was in week 3, and performed with minimal training. Fingers crossed we see it again!

Did Kara perform her semi-final dance in the final last year? Was it the rumba?

Makeup would be a nightmare for Pasha. They will have to green him up real quick and remove them again for other dance. Unless they do away with the green make-up then I won't mind seeing their jive again.

Otherwise I would love to see them perform their Charleston again as their favourite latin dance.

If they did Shrek I'd imagine they'd do that first.

But then it would be a nightmare to remove the green and then get Pasha into a ballroom tux in their second dance! I believe that if they do the Shrek, then they'll do the ballroom first (SCD finals always does ballroom first and latin second), and then if they have break after the latin dance (before the results show), then they will have time to remove his green make-up after the interval. Otherwise, just let him year the Shrek ear and get on with it, no make-up necessary. Won't add points to the dance I don't think...

Last year they did their highest scoring dances first a Rumba, Samba and V.Waltz. I don't think the paint would be needed or ears (he did become human in the second film, as long as they don't put him in a blonde wig )

They could always turn the Castle into Blackpool Tower and the Donkey a seaside donkey, ditch the Tiara as well & it would work as a concept like that.

Last year highest scoring and favorite dance. All were conveniently from opposite disciplines. (If that is the case again it is possible for 3 repeats from the semis.) Best way to get around it would be to make the rule apply from week 1-Quarter finals, would be less messy imo.

I think it's a good thing, the judges liked the paso, obviously her fans did too, and it will be fresh in her mind so she can focus more on learning her other dances. I certainly wouldn't mind seeing it again.

yes, but favourite often means the couple chose their highest-scoring ballroom and latin dances.

Matt and Flavia scored 40 for their waltz, but they picked AS as their final ballroom dance. Because AS was clearly their favourite dance.

VW and Waltz was Mark Ramprakash's best ballroom dances, but Karen picked tango in the final ballroom. Not sure if Mark has a favourite ballroom (he's not good in ballroom), but I guess Mark and Karen liked their tango the best (since they scored so well in the AT in the semis, so I guess they naturally chose ballroom tango for their final, though it was not their best scoring ballroom dance).
