Which Pros Will be Dropped For Next Year?

Brendan was worried earlier this year that he wasn't going to be asked to do current series, so maybe he'll be "in jeopardy" (as they say on DWTS) for next year.

Think (as many others said above) James and Ola could also be in danger.

Anton & Erin should go; both are past the standard of dancing now being reached on the show, and not only in Latin. They did a ballroom dance together the other week and were dreadful. Though maybe they'll be kept in so Anton can provide the "comedy". I don't think he will be kept on to replace Bruce if/when he (Bruce) retires.

I agree about it being interesting at the very least to see how Artem would handle a much more limited female celeb (and I say that as an Artem fan).

As for Anton: we saw the problems that emerged with Laila Rouass - probably the most talented female celeb he's had. While the ballroom routines were often lovely, the latin was embarrassing and I certainly feel that his limitations held her back. Who can blame her for having an injured ankle and being unable to get through an entire rumba with him?

Really? I think this series has done him the world of good. Not only did he handle the partnership with Lulu well (he certainly came out of it with more sympathy than her), the whole 'rent-a-pro' thing was great. Working with 3 different partners in one series - an unparalleled chance to show his versatility in working with celebs of varying levels of skill and confidence. I have noticed many people mellowing to him this year, so maybe that will work well for him next year.

Besides, for the height issue alone, he should be kept. There is rather a dearth of tall male celebs at the moment, especially compared to a couple of years ago.

I think The Jordans, Vincent & Flavia, Katya and Robin are the most at risk.

I would sa Anton but people seem to love him.

Artem and Aliona seem to be getting star pushes so they must be keen on them hanging around.

I think and hope that Brendan is far too popular for them to axe him. He makes the show for me. Time for Anton and Erin to say goodbye. And didn't Erin get married a couple of years back - maybe she'll want kids. Still like her but I think she is tired of it all now.

Vincent and Flavia are well regarded at the BBC, and by the many discerning customers they have had engagements with such as British Airways, Royal British Legion, Selfridges, Princes Trust etc. etc. A class act as popular as those two would be asked back not discarded.

Brendan's stepped up to the plate this year and more than proved his worth for next year.
The remaining Pro's.are all a good mix of size, personality, and age to suit all the different celebs. and I think they should all come back tbh. I just hope Aliona and Artem get the older contestants next year and others that got lumbered this year get decent celebs. for 2012.

If James and Ola go it will not be a surprise I guess. They'll have brought it on themselves - outspokeness and mediocre choreography.

Brendan should be safe, although Lulu was hopeless week 1 she did improve.

Anita started OK but faded out, as did Audley.
Brendan and Natalie are needed for the taller Celebs.

Maybe Vincent and Flavia are being groomed as the "comedy" turns replacing Anton & Erin.
Flavia did a good job with The Grant, Edwina Currie was not bad enough to be a comedy act so we didn't see Vincent.

After "P**igate" Anton has had 2 comedy partners, and frankly I can't see him being allowed back into the mainstream fold partnering a contender.
If you were a female celeb who thought she maybe had a chance at winning, would you want Anton?

Erin had Rory Bremner and their only good dance was when Lionel Blair got involved.

We saw on ITT that Artem had Holly training endlessly with an iron bar to improve posture, and Pasha looks a hard taskmaster also. Katya got Gavin Henson to the semi-final last year.
Unless their clients are in it for the comedy/ Panto potential, no agent is going to want their client paired with an average Pro and get eliminated early.

I share the thoughts of quite a few on here.

Robin would be of no loss to me, even though he seems to be a sound guy. But choreography wise he's rather forgetable and, personality wise, sadly the same. Anita and Patsy, while not great dancers, weren't bad or even average dancers so I'm not sure how to assess his achievements with them. Maybe a better celeb for him next year would make his place (and importance) in this show more clearer.

As for the Anton and Erin debate, I doubt they'll go, they probably now serve as the older Pros for the shows next older/joke celebs. I would like to be proved wrong on this thought though.

I don't think the three girls Natalie, Aliona and Katya will be let go, at least not yet anyway. Natalie and Aliona have had two good celeb dancers so have been able to demonstrate how good their choreography skills are and so will be most likely be kept. And I just hope Katya gets a good celeb next year (if she's back) because she's now the only Pro to have not had a good celeb yet (as Kristina finally got her first good celeb this year). I think the main thing that has kept Katya in this and last year is her character which is a mix of being fesity, sexy, strict and ice queen-ish all rolled into one. I think also her comical relationship with Gavin was seen as a plus tick for her (despite the dancing itself with Gav not being of any memorably quality). She has certainly shown she can deal with average dancing celebs despite having the challenge to temper her mood with some of them (esp with the likes of lazy Phil Tuffers).

As for James Jordan, well, he's the headline maker really isn't he for this show, at least that seems to have been his role over the last few years. So, I have no idea if he would be kept in for that aspect or got rid of.. (for that same aspect). With Ola I can't tell if she'd be still wanted by the producers or not but, either way, she'll go wherever her husband goes and I can't see her sticking around the show if he was got rid of. Brendan has (mainly) mellowed since he got married so maybe the shows producers are liking his nicer side being shown to the audience (as it kind of gives him a new character dimension from before in a way). And I also get the impression that he is a iconic figure for SCD, Pro wise (?), so would he really be got rid of (?).

I think its time Flavia and Vincent got some good partners again! She did well with Russell for a comical year but would be nice to see her and Vinnie back to choreographing nice routines (which they can dance full out in themseles in) next year if they're asked back (as they're both good at choreographing too). Pasha and Artem will likely stay as they have both done well with their partners this year (and Artem obv last year) but it would be interesting to see them both with the type of partners that Anton has to contend with year in year out.

If TPTB try and ditch Brendan (unlikely, given his popularity) then I will handcuff myself naked to the railings of BBC headquarters in protest. Nobody messes with rent-a-pro’s fans!

100% concur with all of the points in your post - although I hope that they keep Robin, just ‘cos he's such a sweetie! - but I particularly agree with the BIB. As much as I love Pasha and Artem, I hope that they are paired with celebs of lower ability next year. It isn't fair that the same pros are matched with the duffers year in, year out, and it would give them both the chance to prove their strength as teachers and choreographers if they had to work with celebs of lesser talent.

As long as flavia/vincent/aliona/natalie/katya/kristina/brendan/pasha/robin/ola/ erin/ are still here im happy i dont really mind uf james/anton leaves

Erin does a gruelling tour every year, teaches and choreographs and is very fit and competetive, far from sick of it. Also why assume married women want kids, besides an unmarried pro could get pregnant anytime too and so what its not an illness as I tell my lazy skiving colleagues,!

Brendan will stay hes getting even more popular, Vincent has charisma, like new boys Pasha and Artem too

I would hate Anton to take over from Bruce. It would be going from bad to worse.

I think you have to also take into account the celebrity asking for certain pro's too.

Russell asked for Flavia and got her and i am sure others have mentioned in the past too they asked for a certain pro.

If it means getting a household name that is wildly desperate to dance with anton he would stay

This has been a great year for Brendan and Pasha, I am sure that they will be safe.

I want Robin to stay as well, he is such a likeable guy, and so good with his partners.

I just hope that this is the last time I have to look at Anton's smirking face, can't bear him!

I somehow don't think Anton will be back next year and I pray that James Jordan will not be returning. His childish behaviour when he gurned behind Jason was totally unacceptable. As another poster said he should be put on the naughty step or be made to stand in the corner with his hands on his head. If he behaves like a child he should be treated like one. I hope he has had his wrists slapped for being such an attention box. Ridiculous man.

It could be argued that Artem did get someone who on paper was going to be great but in reality wasn't that great a dancer meanwhile Pasha got someone who turned out to be really strong.
I wouldn't really like either of them to get 'duffers' as I think it would be a waste of their talent and I would miss seeing the great choreography they can come up with, especially Artem.

It's an entertaining variety programme for the family and it and those appearing shouldn't be taken too seriously, it isn't "Come Dancing," that died.

Why don't you think Artem will be back next year?

Sorry - need glasses. It's Anton. Hooray. Goodbye Anton. It's been nice but enough now.

If they axed Brendan the outcry over Arlene would look like a warm-up act

Artem has got to come back next year. As Brucie would say "He's my favourite". Brilliant dancer and choreographer - the next female celeb to get him will be a very lucky girl.

Definitely want Artem back BUT his next celeb should not be a girl. He is way overdue to get an older lady with less obvious potential.

How could anyone take James Jordan seriously. I think everyone who watches SCD knows it is an entertainment programme. Funny thing though - I am sure a certain attention seeker thinks it is "The James Jordan Show" and he is the star.
