This weekend only cements it. Harry is going to win because he's Kara as a boy.
Win a Charity Pre-Show Competition: Both Kara and Harry won a BBC Jolly charity event before the show, effecitvely serving as an audition to the producers, showing off their talent, without being so amazing they seemed to be ringers.
Get an ex-SYTYCD pro : Both Artem(finallist) and Aliona(last cut before the finals) made it far on So You Think You Can Dance - a show devoted to versatility, willingness to learn styles outside of ballroom, and performing to a reality tv crowd. As Strictly becomes increasingly less about ballroom, being with a chameleon, rather than an Erin, can only pay off.
Start near the front, but not RIGHT at the front : Both Kara and Harry were strong from the beginning, and clear contenders to win from the off. But the judges held back with the scores in comparison to their rivals . Kara didn't top the leaderboard til Week 6, Harry til Week 7.
Overcome "performance" problem, often imaginary, somewhere mid-series : See : Kara's Charleston, Harry's Argentine Tango/samba. Both hammered by the judges for performance problems, which were never subsequently mentioned. Len bless him even joined in when he'd had to cede the problem to Jennifer Grey when he was away.
Fight with Len, then "win him round" : Len yelling at Kara & Artem for their American Smooth? At Harry & Aliona for a few weeks mid-series? All forgotten by the end - 10S ABOUND.
Whilst fighting with Len, make sure he still hypes you, ludicrously : Remember Len saying Kara was professional standard? Remember Len saying that Harry was one of the best male ballroom dancers he's seen? (Not just on the show...ever!). Oh Len...
Get Alesha on board: Alesha gave the majority of Kara's dances a 10. By the end of the final, the same will almost certainly be true for Harry (it's already 50:50). Nobody else gets this from any other judge...I think ever?
Be better at Ballroom than at Latin, apart from rumba, a bit : I can already hear Kara fans gnashing their teeth, but she was, gerroverit.
Be nice and middle class : This goes for pretty much all Strictly winners, but remember that VT where Artem met Kara's parents? Remember how the romance seemed the most important aspect? WRONG. It was showing us all that they lived in a nice big house with high hedges and classy furnishings. Do we even need to start with Harry?
Be young, but not the baby : Nobody likes an old winner. Hollins was the oldest winner, at 39, and he only got away with that because he was the height and build of a toddler. Kara and Harry are both almost the youngest in their class, but in both cases there's someone a bit younger/less mature (Tiny Tina/Chelsee) to remind you they're still a grown-up.
Go into the final in the lead, but not yet peaking : Go into the final top of the leaderboard, with scores of 39 and 39. This way you're the best, you've yet to peak, and you're an all-rounder. Also, have someone else get a controversial Perfect Score so your fans can start ludicrously claiming you've been "undermarked" for a score of 39 (LOL)
Tie it up, and call it a formula.
(NB : If Chelsee wins, scratch this entire thread, and replace it with one about how Chelsee and Alesha are the same because they both have Nans, amazing quickstep skills, and a ****ing annoying laugh, thx)
