I think the answer is actually that we all like people for different reasons and they dont always fit into the same mould. On paper Chelsee should be the very last person I would like but she has won me over. I didnt think I would like Gavin and I adored him (not the dancing mind). There is also the pro partner factor, I know for a 100% fact that I would like Harry more if he was with any of the other female pros, and would be actively supporting him if he was with Kristina or Katya, but I just dont care for Aliona very much and it effects how I think.

I liked:
Series 4: Mark Ramprakash and Louisa Litton Series 5: Alesha Dixon Series 6: Austin Healey Series 7: No one. ![]() Series 8: Kara Tointon Series 9: Chelsee Healey followed by Harry Judd a country mile away. Jason, in comparison, is far away in Australia going by this distance analogy... And Iliked Series 4 Louisa but not bothered enough to watch Series 5 Matt di Angelo Series 6 Austin Healey Series 7 No-one Series 8 Kara Tointon Series 9 No-one So I don't know what we can extrapolate from all our answers.

Yeah they must be pretty close, I heard Kara will be a bridesmaid at Tom's wedding or something along those lines.

Here is a big coincidence for you. Kara used to date James Bourne from Busted I believe, and through Busted became great friends with McFly. She is still a very close friend of McFly's and attending Tom McFly's engagement party alongside Matt Willis recently, the only member of Busted who is still close friends with the band.
Matt Willis won I'm a Celebrity, Dougie won it after taking advice from him. Harry is in the final and certainly has a chance, he took advice from Kara before the show. |

Tom's bride to be is Giovanna Falcone. It was she who made an appearance on last year's ITT when they said she was one of Kara's best friends

Come on now Monkseal....why are you beating yourself up like this, I know your heart lies elsewhere.
I have told you (elsewhere) that you shouldnt underestimate the appeal of a girl who can turn round the opinion of a grumpy 50 something woman who has an over active disaproval muscle. One of the reasons that Chris Hollins won was because he came across to the public as a sweet, genuine, fun guy with a fun non sexual relationship with Ola. I think Chelsee might just pull this off. |

I wonder how much being bookies' favourite could damage the chances of a celebrity winning. Because people are obviously going to vote for the person they bet on, and it'd be more profitable to bet on someone who's not bookies' favourite and vote for him/her to win. So the profitable thing to do would be to bet on Chelsee (I assume Harry is still the favourite?) and vote for her hoping that she wins.

Right off to see if the white dress/red coat combo will win baby Apprentice, or is it in the bag for Baby 'I hate everything' James.

Parallels between Kara and Chelsee:
1. Both actresses that did one show and nothing else in terms of acting (Eastenders vs Waterloo Road). 2. Both had a new pro partner. 3. Both pro partner a native Russian (American or at least speaks with an American accent?) and ex SYTYCD contestants. 4. Chelsee and Kara both didn't believe (genuinely) they were good, and often appeared unconvinced but happy when judges praised them after their performance. Not as comprehensive as Monkseal but he/she has more time on his/her hands. *meow, boo-hiss, air scratches* |

Harry reminds me of Darren Gough a bit of a lad great ballroom but never could get into the Latin, probably more polished and less openly enthusiastic than Darren. Chelsee reminds me slightly of Alesha, beginning to dance on auto pilot and perform. Like Alesha she has a few wobbly moments now and then as she dances on the edge. Jason is very staged but not always fully there doesn't remind me of any one particularly.
Very interesting battle imo. |

Fun thread. ![]() I'm enjoying the speculation(s). I just have a question about Monkseal's list...Quote:
Get an ex-SYTYCD pro : Both Artem(finallist) and Aliona(last cut before the finals) made it far on So You Think You Can Dance - a show devoted to versatility, willingness to learn styles outside of ballroom, and performing to a reality tv crowd. As Strictly becomes increasingly less about ballroom, being with a chameleon, rather than an Erin, can only pay off.
What country's SYTYCD did Aliona participate in?And on the SYTYCD subject, a little correction. Artem was (unfortunately) NOT a finalist. He went out 4th pair (out of an 8 pair field) and so was two weeks away from being in the finals. ![]() Of course that doesn't actually affect the point being made, IMO.

I meant finallist in the sense of reaching the live shows (should have been clearer, sorry). Aliona tried out for the fourth series of the US version - she got cut at the last round (Top 40?) before the live shows, in favour of Chelsie Hightower.

I think after Bonkers Snow, Faina and the perils of dragging the fabulous Anya halfway through the previous series on her bum, they were probably sensible to leave off trying with the Eastern Bloc lady-pros in favour of an all-American type, as I doubt it's ever going to happen with that show's audience. (See : Iveta this year). I still would have taken her over that awful salsa woman who lasted two weeks mind...

There is definitely a different sensibility on either side of the pond. e.g. Showdances. DWTS has had little ballroom content in their "freestyle" dances for such a long time that some people thought there was a rule forbidding it in the freestyle. Here, however, the dances that stray too far from tradition seem to be generally disliked. |
