C31 just fired up from Winter Hill - my tvcard is getting the full SIG CARR VIT SYNC LOCK from it! No idea what is there yet, nothing being detected in the NITs on the other 7 muxes. Manual scan on a TV gets nothing. More info as/when but if anyone else wants to take a look (especially if you happen to have test gear), help yourselves now while it is up...

(Apologies - wrong thread, C31 is COM7 from WH, not local, oops..)

I thought this local Tv idea may have been dropped by now and the money wasted on it put to better use.

Just spotted this PR news on Canis's website:

http://canismedia.co.uk/comux-uk-swi...k-26-november/

Quote:
“Comux UK switches on the Local TV digital transmission network – 26 November
Posted on November 25, 2013 by admin

Today Comux UK launches the local TV Network Operations Centre (NOC). Built from scratch in under a year, it provides the infrastructure for local television companies to broadcast on Freeview, across the UK.

The NOC will become fully operational with the launch of Estuary TV in Grimsby – the first local TV licence-holder to broadcast on this digital network. Estuary TV’s schedule kicks off with a local news show at 5.40 pm on Channel 8. A further 18 stations across the UK are preparing to go to air before the end of 2014, and an additional 28 are set to launch in the second phase in 2014/15.”

(there is more than that - follow the link if you want to read it all)

Almost a MTV ... reminds me of a ITV 20 yrs ago. I wonder if they end up doing something similar or regulation will prevent it.

You mean buying each other out? Yup, unless regulation prevents it, I'd say it's almost certain.
