Philips Streamium Wi Fi Failing To Register & Activate Online

I am trying to register a Philips Streamium MCI50H/05 Wi Fi Hi Fi on the Philips website in order to receive Internet radio channels wirelessly from the Internet.
The Philips website is looking for a Product Registration Mac number which "should" be 16 charecters long however, my MAC number on the unit is 17 charecters long & it is failing to register even when I take out the "-" signs.
Any ideas?

Then perhaps reduce it to 16 characters by ignoring the first or the last character.

I tried that but, this is the message I keep getting.

The server was unable to complete your product registration
ECDHandlerException when validating device registration on ECD
