Ideal case for Kindle?
So far I have acquired three different cases for my Kindle Keyboard.
A Tuff-Luv Tri-Axis black leather case: all right, quite smart, but a bit sombre against the dark grey of the Kindle itself, and a little fussy with too many Velcro flaps to undo. Besides, I've never wanted to prop my Kindle horizontally. A hemp case embroidered with the Tree of Life: all right, quite smart, but a bit gingery and hairy. A Tuff-Luv Saddleback Brown Leather Hide Case. I had high hopes of this one because it's very well reviewed, but mine has one or two little flaws in the leather that make it look unattractive – to me at least. I should probably have returned it, but I think it's too late for that now and I've thrown away all the packaging. I'm using the hemp one at the moment, but I can't help feeling that there's an ideal supercase lurking out there somewhere. What do other people like? |

I got the little ipad pouch cover from a pound shop.
Maybe not "ideal", but was only £1 ! The also do an ipad holder - wires and screws - which will also support a kindle on a table top. |

Each of the cases I've bought has a strut that folds out of the back so that you can prop the case up for reading on a table or desk, which is quite useful. The perfect case for the Kindle is the one made by Amazon. Yes it is expensive but it fits perfectly, is easy to use, and has a built in light. It is also beautifully made.

I agree. Get the official Kindle one. I didn't get it at first as I thought the price was high. But was getting a Kindle and case of Amazon last week for someone else's Christmas present and ended up adding a cover for my Kindle to the order too and have to say I am glad I did. So well made, the in built light is so handy and it looks really nice.

Thanks for the replies.
Ah well, maybe I'll need to invest in one of the official cases. I believe they fit with pins into the slots on the side of the Kindle. Is it easy to remove a case should one wish to fit a different one? |

Yes, the pins just slot in and you can take it off again if needed.
Time to raid the piggy bank again, I fear.

I use the infamous original Kindle cover without light that was causing the Kindle to restart randomly. I chopped off the hinges that went inside the device and use it only for transport. When reading I take the Kindle out. So the Kindle has a proper protection when in the bag and it's very light to hold in hand without any cover adding weight. Rather ideal combination really

There are a million creative designer covers that you get for an iPad. But if you are really looking for a creative, efficient as well as economical iPad cases, then my recommendations would be this- iPad Cases with Hand straps

We have the Duragadget "Genuine Leather" (yeah right) Case & Cover With Stand for Kindle 3 - Black. My wife has a pink one.
Actually found them to be very good. No light though. |

If you're looking for something a bit different check Folksy. I prefer to use it cover free and just use a wee pouch to slip it in for protection when I'm not using it. There are book style covers too if you prefer that though. There are some dodgy ones there but some really nice well made ones too if you search through. All sorts of fabrics including suede.

The Amazon one with the light looked ideal but is almost the same price as the Kindle itself, or at least was in Argos. Something like 59.99

Leather with a light cost me about a tenner off ebay. Just search for kindle cover and there are hundreds.
