Last night i had £10 of credit on my phone...This morning I wake up and i have nothing on there...apparently the permanent GPRS connection on my phone needs a certain amount of money to activate, and then pays it back when it's finished. However, O2 claims that the GPRS was faulty yesterday and so has cost me £10 which they said would be put back on my phone...so where is it???

Anyone else had this problem or is it just o2 talking rubbish again?

One word: Switch
Switch your network, O2 are bad at this they always either send you messages that cost £1 (without your permission) or take your credit, they have went down to being a very poor network lately, I used to like them but since its getting further away from the BT Cellnet times they just seem to be getting worse all the time

Three also share the O2 network when they can't provide coverage. Mind you I've not heard anything good about their customer service either.

BT own t-mobile though. Ive always been an o2 and bt customer (and ex-employee) but of late im getting sick of them.

I constantly lose all my credit to companies wanting me to download ringtones Ive never requested. When I call o2 (as ICSTIS advise) the company no longer exist.

Im only still with them - at the moment - as I get my 300 free text for £10 top-up per month. Though I dont get my 300 wap mins anymore for no reason.

Do BT seriously own T-Mobile? I thought they would have owned O2 if any Does that mean Virgin's owned by BT?

No, BT don't own T-Mobile, they just use it as the network provider for some of their mobile plans. BT also use a number of other networks for their plans as well. The original BT Mobile Sense uses O2 as its network provider & the upcoming 'Bluephone' will use Vodafone.

T-Mobile is owned by Deutsche Telekom. BT Doesn't own any mobile network.

This has just happened to me. I tried phoning the 02 0870 number but it said I had to phone a 50p a minute number. Why should I have to do this when it is there mistake. I would e-mail them but last time I did that they don't even read the e-mail and send me something completely unrelevent.

Does anyone know a cheaper number to call 02 online. Or will an 02 shop be able to help.

Thanks

There is no number that i know of cheaper, maybe an O2 shop may help, but i'm not sure if they only deal with O2 UK or O2 Online as well, you could always try theres no harm in trying

O2 shops probably won't help. They normally claim that O2 (UK) ltd is a seperate company from O2 (online) ltd. They would be right about this, apart from the fact that O2 (online) ltd no longer exists and everything now comes under the singe O2 (UK) ltd company.

I've never had a major problem emailing them, although they can be slow. They have a funny procedure that you seem to have to follow.

1) You fill in their contact us form in the help section & submit it.

2) They then reply by sending you something completely unrelated & random that their computer thinks you might like to know.

3) You reply to this email with what you put in the contact us box and send it off.

4) A real O2 person emails you back and makes the problem worse (you might get a thing saying it takes 5 days, it normally doesn't).

5) You reply to this email (again with what you put in the contact box) with the subject 'get it right'.

6) They email you back & have hopefully solved the problem

This website will help you find the landline equivalent that the 0870 number connects to.

I have sent them an e-mail asking for a PAC code. And for my £7 back.

I'm going to switch back to virgin mobile. I have had more problems in the 3 weeks I have been with o2 than the 4 years I have owned a mobile phone.

They have just done what they did before. I got a reply to the e-mail I sent and it said I was being charged becuase my free wap had run out which is fair enough. Except the fact that I couldn't actually connect to the wap it kept failing every time I tried.

I also got a reply about the same subject. I twice tried to connect but couldn't and each time O2 took 92p off my credit. Their explanation was that I wasn't using an O2 handset, therefore my default GPRS settings must be wrong. Have had this handset since last December, and have had the O2 settings in it since January, didn't have any probs until last week. Haven't had it since either, nor have I had the money credited to my phone!

I'm not using an o2 phone either. But have used the settings they sent to me so it's there problem.

Also Has anyone brought a virgin sim off ebay, if so was it ok? I don't want to pay a load to get another sim.

Well guys, the latest news is - Still no £10! This is ridicuous, I sent a complaint to complaints@o2mail.co.uk (don't even know if this is still used, if it is it's probably checked by some dimwit who doesnt know GPRS from GSOH) but no response...they can shove me calling their premium rate line right up their @rse.

Whats a PAC code & do I need one of those too?
