Performing with the judges and that song ...
Halfway

I am still astounded at the results of the final show. When the three sang I felt that:

Gary was very laid back and allowed Marcus to do his own thing. If he'd have made mistakes it would have shown immediately, however I feel that they both harmonised very well together. Not only can he sing absolutely anything that's been asked of him during the show, but Marcus can "entertain" too - he oozes personality and is a very likable character.

Amelia-Lily sold the entire show for me and Kelly chose a fantastic song to duet with her in order to show off her versatile ability to sing with a wide range and hold her notes. She was, IMO, electric and on that performance alone I would have kept her into the final two. I would have liked to have heard her rendition of the "Christmas" song.

Talisa, on the other hand, is very young (just gone 23) and her song choices throughout the competition I feel have been geared to the young teenages who enjoy voting. Talisa sang over Little Mix almost throughout the entire song. I don't know who has styled these girls but they simply looked stupid. All four girls are attractive and/or pretty, but they were always made to wear socks and flat shoes or boots - always. I think if they'd have been given the opportunity to look more feminine (even if only once or twice) it would have helped their appearance. Needless to say they won, but not my choice. Good luck to them - they need a new stylist.

I'd just like to ask you all what you think of the so called "Christmas" song which they've rehashed to release. I think it's a dreadful choice - it's not at all festive - and it's been done before. Why couldn't someone have written a new song to release - now that always impresses me so much more.

I will now get off my soap box but would like to hear what others think of this.

In my opinion:

Duets:
Marcus and Gary Barlow - it worked and was nice to see Marcus doing a ballad.
Amelia and Kelly - sorry, no. I got the impression Kelly would have preferred to have dueted with Misha.
Little Mix and Tulisa - the duet of the night. OK, so Tulisa is young but the chemistry between her and the girls shone thru.

Xmas song:
The only true Xmas song (and I`m not religious) was Silent Night which Little Mix delivered in a beautiful performance, and showed they can all sing.

I think the whole 'duet' thing sucks.

I loved all the duets but my favourite was Gary and Marcus it was lovely to see a ballad on the saturday night and both sounded great

I agree about the LM styling - how many pairs of leggings did Jesse get through: It just looked odd if the other three had bare legs. How tall are they Maybe flat footwear was to emphasise they were 'little' - as in 'Little' Mix

I loved the Gary and Marcus duet but it was always going to be a safe option with those two. It was always going to be good but never earth-shattering. The two other judges took a risk but the only one that paid off was Tulisa and Little Mix - that was the moment everyone in my house started actually paying attention to the final. As for Kelly and Amelia... oh dear. That's all I'm going to say.

In regards to Tulisa's song choice, it's all about marketing Little Mix for after the show - how many people would buy their stuff if they sang purely ballads? Marcus has that image yet can mix it up with performances like Reet Petite and Another One Bites The Dust. Amelia on the other hand, was just a Xtina tribute act and didn't really have her own identity in the shows.

So you're saying they should wear high heels and sexy clothes? Sorry if that's the case then I prefer what they wore on the show.

I'm sure there's a happy medium, but anything more feminine would have made it more difficult to promote them as normal girls who won't steal your boyfriend.

I seem to remember LM making an off-hand comment at some point during the show about preferring not to wear heels
