Bruce is a strange entity

I'm one of those who got increasingly frustrated with him - his ridiculous jokes, the way he hogs the limelight and tries to make it the Bruce show, BUT he does have strengths. Curiously, despite the obvious fear that the producers have of him just completely forgetting where he is, he is at his best when he ad libs. Or when he steps into a wardrobe malfunction of Len going off on one. Scripted he is wooden and playing the old trick of milking the joke, almost as if he is a child annoyed that things aren't all about him. The other thing I notice is that although he's incredible for his age, he hasn't kept up with the times in terms of modern communications and I notice this in the way he cheats Chelsee. He is so patronising, almost as if she is a seven year old child who is a few sandwiches short of a picnic. I don't believe he means any harm, he probably thinks he's being sweet to her, but it makes me cringe.

Well, this is true, but I was too cowardly to say it. But isn't that even more of a reason not to treat her like that?

Why does he go into a comedy Yorkshire accent when he talks to Chelsee?

All I can say re Bruce, at least Chelsee isn't doomed by the "Your my Favourites" tag. Though the accent mimicking is still highly patronising.

I've no idea because she's from Eccles in Manchester which isn't in Yorkshire, it's in Lancashire.

I wish that just for once, Bruce would NOT make it sound like the singers are called "Dave Arch", and just add a little pause there. "Our fabulous singers [pause] Dave Arch, etc."

Rather like Sir Brucie, he doesn't take himself to seriously and when something "unexpected" happens he's always there with a quip.

Do some people really think that viewers think all the singers are called Dave Arch?
