Duh! Your opinion is by definition subjective. That is what the word "subjective" means - it is just your opinion, For heaven's sake, use a dictionary if you do not know the meanings of words, or you will continue to look un-intelligent!

Open your eyes and look past your own narrow opinion, and ask yourself this question: It really does not matter if YOU like Janet or not.

"Do other people like Janet Devlin?"

If you look around you, you will see the answer is "YES".

Since you seem to be slow, let me give you another example. Take Justin Bieber. I hate the "little shite". I consider him talentless and useless. But I do not go from saying he is useless, to saying he is a failure. I can see past my own negative opinion, and realize that he has enough fans who (for some reason I cannot relate to) like him and buy his stuff.

Now I am not saying Janet will be that successful, no, I don't think she will. But she will get signed and produce an album or five, and they will sell moderately well. She will sell to people like me, in fact.

You are entitled to your own opinion on liking or hating her or just being not interested.

But if someone just thinks "I hate her, therefore she will fail", then that person is truely stupid.

You don't have to sell five bazillion million quadrillion to be a "success" you know! I suspect Diana was not displeased with that at all.

Ok, she has not followed that up. Maybe she won't, indeed, maybe she will completely disappear, and it will turn out to be a one-album wonder. Or maybe she will get re-signed, get her second album, which I believe I heard she is writing, published and maybe even it will do well. I don't know, but give the girl a chance!

But just prenouncing someone who's first single hit #1 and who's first album also hit #1 as a "flop" is just stupid IMO. It's like all those idiots who call Matt Cardle a flop already. He *might* have a short-lived career, or he may be around a while, I have no idea, but it is not all just about one music label or selling billions of the first album.”

It might interest you to know, that Diana has released 2 free tracks from her 2nd album, due to be released in early 2012. One last week 'Music to make the boys cry', and another one today 'Kiss of a bullet'.

The reviewers and bloggers, in reviewing the song she released last week, have run out of superlatives to describe her and her new stuff. They think it's incredible, and that she's amazing. If she had released it as a single, there is no doubt it would have gone straight to No.1.

A few of them still consider Diana to be the most talented musician to come from the X-Factor.

She may not have, yet, had the commercial success of Leona or Alexandra, but, has certainly made quite a big impact in the music industry.

When big stars like Enrique & J-Lo are requesting your talents to write a song for them, you know you're on the right path.

Shes Eoghan Quigg in a ginger Wig (er hair-dont anyway). I think she will slope away like many an ex-factory singer and carry on about her merry way.

I think she will be succesful Just because you dont like her doesnt mean she wont be succeaful.Personally i love her James michael and herself were probably the most like 'artists' .Though i cant be sure about james, just from what ive heard. She got quite far. No,she didnt get to the final, but in my opinion it doesnt matter. As the show's popularity doesnt always translate into real popularity Also,to the people saying in a month well be like 'Janet who' . I conpletely disagree, she has a very dedicated (and large) fanbase, supporting her every step of the way.I dont see a shortage of recording contracts either ;D

Mark my words, Janet will be the UK's Taylor Swift. She's all about the music, is relateable and a good roll model for young/teenage girls, smart, independent, and nothing about her is manufactured.

Totally.
Kids when you **** up anything just throw a tantrum and blame anything and their mother but yourself.
Don't bother learning things correctly you can just claim
afterwards you didn't want to do them in the first place.
When people give you a once in a lifetime chance bite their hand.
Only listen to dull whiny songs.
Don't comb your hair.
Vote Ginger.
Give them Irish back the Ireland.
Kelly Rowland is the Anti Christ.

I do think Janet will have huge success over in Northern Ireland, definitely. But to be huge across the UK will be a struggle for her.

You are just trying to be offensive to the girl, her fans and her geographical origins. Nothing in this post actually relates to reality.

To think, it is you who were saying others were out of touch. Look in the mirror.

Yes, Diana's first album was my favorite from any x-factor cast off so if you haven't heard it yet go check it out.

The new stuff is very good and the future is looking very bright for her! To me she is more credible than the likes of JLS and 1D or even Alexandre Burke who seemed a little cheesy to me.

I doubt it. We already have Elle Goulding...and with Diana Vickers making a come back..i doubt it.

She became too disliked cause she kept getting through, if she went 2 weeks early, then yes, she could be huge!

With the producers certainly, who made sure Janet didn't face him in the final.

If you want to base your opinion on the results for one week that is your prerogative, however that's not a very wise way to make a decision. The reality is that Janet finished ahead of Marcus the previous six weeks, and likely would have finished ahead of him the following week if she hadn't been let go by the judges.

Why do you bother to attribute these things to her when you know they are patently untrue. Overall, this is just a strange post and hints at some bitterness toward Janet and/or her ethnicity. This is what I was thinking of:

Be yourself
Follow your dreams
Be original
Ignore the haters
Face your fears
Stand up for what you believe in
Stay humble
Know who your friends are
Stay out of trouble
Treat others like you want to be treated

These are all traits I see in Janet, along with her singing talent, which make her a very interesting personality and someone whom people of all ages can relate to. I suspect that some of these themes will be expressed in her original music.

Totally agree with you Euro, Marcus should never have made the final, and that is from someone who likes the guy, but even I am honest enough to admit things that are as plain as day. Had they not saved Misha, Marcus would have been toast.

She was very cleverly removed from the show having actually got the most votes, Misha should have gone not Janet. It was manipulated to ensure they had her out.

She is smart, and I for one admire her, all this crap about her being difficult, most teenagers are I have one her age, but she was made out to be a brat and that never washed with me. I would not want to wear stupid outfits either, bad enough being told to sing rubbish songs, which is why I am sure she purposely forgot her words, she wanted out and stuck her fingers up in the best way possible.. she made herself look the fool, but Janet is nobody's fool.

I do not know why people cannot see this, I can and I like Marcus. My actual fav went week one in James, another one who was stitched up by this show.

Totally agree with what you have put, I would also add has a lovely face and smile, and can play guitar another plus for me, she is not just a singer but writes as well, all things that make her much more credible to me.

XF5 had much more viewers and people voting. It was probably the biggest XF series we've had and critically one of the most best to watch. Diana was extremely consistant in the voting and lasted up until the Semi Finals, so I would say she was as popular as Janet. Diana had tons of press attention for the "claw", her skipping a show in Week 5, her relationship with Eoghan etc. Janet doesn't have anything unique about her, really, except that she's just another indie girl who think she's too good for commercial music.

Considering the hype around Diana Vickers on the show, the fact she had tons of airplay and promotion, and the fact it was her debut single, 'Once' had terrible sales for a #1 (second lowest of the year) and plummeted out of the charts. Her second single flopped, and then the album went to #1, yes, but again it plummeted out of the charts and even with a re-release and X-Factor performance she had pretty awful sales.

A record label care more about sales than chart positions. Chart positions mean **** all.
