I think Janet will be successful in the music industry, in her own way. And I doubt she'll be the only one this year either. Success is such a relative term anyway, makes it hard to quantify since peoples definitions and standards are so varied. I'd define success as being happy doing what you're doing, and Janet seems happy.

I think she could be successful but necessarily the most successful. She didn't make it without the show prior to going on x-factor and her fans deserted her half way through. I am not sure, she is very left field and marmite. She does have a distinctive voice though

LOL she was 16 years old! It's very rare that a 16-year old has any success in music, and Janet really hadn't tried to make a career in music up until that point. Many of Janet's fans did choose not to vote for her out of principle the week she was eliminated, but if they were a fan of Janet they haven't deserted her. Janet will be fine.
