Hopefully they'll be given one last full series, and a good finale in which they exit.

I'll miss you, Legs and Nose.

I have only one request. Since you're leaving, can you take Mrs. Robinson with you? ”

Spoiler
Mid-series, isn't it?

Look, I know that some don't like Amy and Rory, that's fine. But maybe, just this once, could we leave out the snarking? We, all of us fans of Who, are loosing two people who have been stunning ambassadors for the show and whether you like the characters (or actors) or not there's no doubt that they've done a hell of a lot to promote and grow the show over the last two years and will almost certainly continue to do so in 2012 as well.

*applause*

I think it's only fitting this thread is more a thanks/tribute to Karen and Arthur's work rather than degrading them. There's no denying that Karen especially has generated a lot of publicity for the show and they've all spent a lot of time on promotional tours and the like. They're a great trio and it'll be both interesting and sad to see only Matt left in the show...

Whoever's coming in is gonna have to be something special. Since the start of New Who,we've not had a Doc/Companion partnership ever last longer than a season at a time until Amy and to a slightly lesser degree, Rory.

Seeing Eleven with anyone else is gonna seem odd at first.

Still as long as she's a she and she's fit, I'm shallow enough to be cool with it.

well said, Karen and Arthur have worked their socks off for this show, don't think it's asking much for people to show a bit of respect, frankly.

I don't recall people showing Catherine Tate or Freema that much respect and they worked just as hard.

Oh please give it a rest, Stcoop, cause there was plenty given to them, Tate in particular, after her departure and you damn well know it. Why drag them in to this thread anyway?

Because I like to remember the days when there were good Companions on the show?

Hopefully there will be again soon, Amy must be the most annoying companion ever. I would like someome who doesnt want to snog or sh*g the doctor, a mate again as Donna was, it was the best combination.

They needed to leave the 11th doctor couldn't progress with them still there. If their leaving halfway through series 7 could this mean that there will possibly be another mid series break?

that bears no point of connection to your initial post whatsoever as I am sure you are well aware. But thats because you know what you posted wasn't true, so your now trying to shift the goal posts. Bye bye.

You know I would like someone new but we could possibly see either Craig or Madame Vastra and Jenny as companions.

I don't think it was said they are leaving half way through series 7, just that "the final days of the Ponds are coming during the next series".

Craig is a possibility because I never thought Catherine Tate would be full time. As for Madame Vastra and Jenny I don't think so because it would be too much work for the make up artists to paint the Silurian make up on the actress that plays Vastra constantly.

[quote=smiddlehurst;55319345]For the first time I'm a bit annoyed with Moffat. We all knew this news was coming, frankly I think most of us kinda expected it to happen at the end of S6 and S7 was just a bonus. I know that set reports will ensure the news leaks months before the episodes air. But still, did we have to be told officially out of the blue like this when we're still months and months away from the series screening and with at least some vague details of what will happen? First decision he's made that I've really disagreed with and it just feels unnecessary.

QUOTE]

I agree. I wish they hadn't released the news now. It seems premature with the Christmas Special coming up taking attention away from that..I'd rather they had released it after Christmas or Febuary.....

Also why would Moffat leak that their ending will be 'heart-breaking'. Is this another case of super hype as in S6 with the annoucement that the doctor would die and it was a trick..These types of annoucements don't really whet my appetite for the new series .

Good. It's time Amy & Rory left for good. Hopefully, they'll take River Song with them.

New companion hopefully won't be James Corden, or an American.

Not a regular on the Dr Who forums but I heard about Amhy and Rory leaving and have to say I am going to miss the characters a lot they are great, but at the same time I'm ready for a change

I don't know about any of you but Rani and/or Clyde would be interesting, sure many would disagree but I'd love to see it happen.

THIS WOULD BE AWESOME!
Just have them meet the Doctor in the year 2014 where they can act closer to their real ages instead of teenagers. These 2 work well together, and when they teamed up with the Doctor in SJA it was fantastic.

And because you say it hasn't been done in the past it shouldn't be done now? If that logic holds, nothing would ever change

Seems like DS already found enough material in this thread to make a reactions story from only 2 pages

does this mean she will be in torchwood and end up naked in a shower scene ? one can wish !
There is no doubt this actress has bought a certain beauty and a very good actress to boot.
Hopefully we will see more of her (or shoulod that be less of her) Matt smith I must admit i thought he was a bad chioce as the doctor but i have warmed to BBC strange choice as the acting role and is brings something different.

so from that it does seem to be indicated that Amy (and Rory?) will be in a lot of series 7. I suppose it could even be the case they only leave right near the end of the series.
