She's got a massive fan base. In 2008/2009 she completed the most successful tour ever by a solo artist selling out 80,000+ stadiums so it's crazy to question her fanbase. Her fans have been with her for over 20 years and if some youngsters want to join the ride then that's all good too

YES!...next question....

Tbh if her last tour was the highest grossing tour by a solo artist of all time...without even trying....this next era with Live Nation, Universal, Interscope behind her and Madonna in total control...not to mention a 4 decade legacy and influencing 90% of all Pop artists today....its in the bag!

Promotion will be massive next era, her new album will be immense, it has all the makings to be....Madonna isnt a star to be burnt out, nor is she desperate or a try hard....this will be immense!

Mere mortals compared to the first lady.

Madonna is not in competition with them anyway, she's beyond that.

Thats the thing though isnt it...Madonna will sell because she is MADONNA...not because she is in competition or whatever...as this is their time whereas Madonna is in her fourth decade you know?

Madonnas plan isnt to outsell lady gaga, katy perry or rihanna in the current environment...what would that achieve?

She will sell records for the music, for ehr as an artist, for her as a brand and her as a name and that is what got American Life and Hard Candy to sell over 4 million each basically....with minimal promo for the latter.

So the ball is in her arena now kids

Compared to the success rate of previous acts against Madonna, such as Mariah in the early '90s or Britney in the early '00s, people like Katy, Rihanna and even (yes, I'm going to say it) Gaga(!) are small fry.

She's outrun and outlasted too many 'New Madonna's and 'Next Big Thing's to feel threatened.

The album may not be as big as Gaga's latest effort, but I can still see Madonna selling albums in 20 years. It's harder to make that call for Gaga.

Madonna will still be going when all of us are six feet under, to be honest.

TRUTH!

I mean no one has come close to her legacy....competition commercially with Mariah and Britney was exciting too really and both have also marked their imprint on Pop too.

Si yeah the current bunch of Pop Kids will be on a high at the moment but Madonna is always and has always been long term....its not even questionable.

They need to take more risks and challenge the system to remain in longevity tbh which Madonna has and is doing time and time again

The only reason you can say people today prefer Lady Gaga & Katy Perry is because Madonna hasn't released anything of note for almost 4 years. Gaga and Katy Perry weren't even around when Hard Candy was released.

As soon as her new single gets released she'll get all the attention she needs.

Just Dance was released 11 days before Hard Candy. It's weird to actually put it all to scale.

Madonna doesn't have to prove herself. She is the Queen of pop. 30 years in the game proves that. She is always relevant, this is not a comeback. Her name is always relevant. Even if the album is not successful. She is still the most successful female artist of all time.
