She looks stunning and even though I hate those type of shoes (showing my age) they look great on her.

Aliona wore better looking shoes with the dress on ITT, but because she had to walk on grass at Ascot, I think she had to switch from stilettos to something with a more practical heel.

Yes they are much nicer but not very practical for walking on grass.

Think it's an age thing. When I see young girls with dresses on and clumpy shoes I don't like it but I know it's fashion.

^^^ That video ^^^ fills me with nostalgia . What an amazing partnership they were - and to think this time last year they hadn't even met and Jay didn't know who Aliona was ! Oh I wish we could turn the clock back and watch last year all over again - such a good series.

I'd like someone to ask Jay just when he became aware of Aliona. I wouldn't be surprised if he was checking Strictly out to see if he would do it and even then, Aliona attracted him towards doing the show. Even when they were first paired on the show, he seemed to have a very established and very high opinion of her.

After all TW sang on the show twice so he MAY already have met her and of course the other dancers.
They also rehearsed together pre launch show where it was Ali who taught him to waltz.
He's a smart cookie who knows where he will have a true friendship I believe.

That was later than now, in August though. Probably that's when they felt a spark with each other for the first time ? And then began checking each other out on YouTube. He would have met her from the group's appearances on Strictly, but I meant he wouldn't have known her very much better than any of the other female Pro's.

Even then, there a difference between knowing someone and being trained by them (just ask Ewan Thomas ...). I think they were just one of those happy partnerships that happen every so often that is just right for the show.

Oh I certainly didn't mean they rehearsed any earlier than when the group rehearsals started as you say in August.
But as he said in the RadioTimes interview immediately after pairing up it was Ali who taught him the waltz part of that very first group dance.

Oh goodness think I've just gotten all teary eyed.. The best partnership and agree with all the posts wish I could just turn back the time and watch these two unfold once again.. But super happy that they are dancing at the launch would have been wrong to get any other so called couple to do their best dance when matter of the fact is no dance is better than Jay and Ali's these two were meant to dance with each other, that's all I'm going to watch and then I'm off.

I miss Aliona this year. Apart from Natalie theres no warmth or familiarity with the other female pros for me.

The Pointless show on Saturday only reminded me of how much i loved her and Jay last year and i too wish we could do that series all over again (with a deserved 40 or 2 for Jay this time. It's still bugging me lol)

Kara never got 40 either and her and Jay are probably the best winners the show has had.
