My head hurts from reading the last few pages! I was only out for a few hours!
At least Robbie has conceded Christmas Day. For a few pages it seemed that some of those who wouldn't usually want +1 included suddenly thought it was worth considering same day repeats!

To try and keep this ratings-related, wasn't Kelly Brook sacked after less than a week from BGT because Simon Cowell said that 4 judges on that show didn't work? So if that was the case then, why should the British public be asked to believe that it would work now?
2009: Amanda Holden “Kelly’s a lovely girl, but it doesn’t work with four people, it doesn’t. Because when you get two buzzes, and then two non-buzzes, Ant and Dec and everyone was going, ‘What does that mean?’…and it was so ridiculously confusing.
Piers Morgan "Kelly was a nice girl, and a good laugh, and doesn’t deserve the bitchy comments she has been getting. But as you’ll see, having a fourth judge just all seemed a bit weird.”

She was very well connected. That's most likely how she got the job in the first place - Cowell spends every Christmas in Barbados as does Brook's manager, Jonathan Shalit. He famously (or infamously) got home from his holiday and suddenly decided she was going to be a judge (which put Ant & Dec's noses out of joint!) Her PR is Hackford Jones whose founder, Simon Jones, is PR Consultant to Syco Music and does loads of work for the company. So when it didn't work out, they protected her (or at least tried to).

FOX signed their contract first. And for a variety of reasons (including, but not limited to, "more money") it's going to be a priority for him. Based on what he said at first, I don't think there is any specific contractual block to him doing X Factor UK. But on a practical level, it's just not possible.
