Yep just saw before EastEnders that Panorama is back at 9pm. Probably best with the subject matter.

Yawn, I didn't say that either

That's not true, even in the overnights the gap between BBC1 and ITV1 had narrowed considerably. It's no longer a landslide victory for BBC1 even though it is still a victory.

Interesting schedule change from the BBC; maybe the topic of Public Enemies resulted in it being pulled considering it's about someone who has been released from prison after serving time for murder!

Endeavour performed ok last night; I expected it to do slightly better. The Royal Bodyguard would be more suited to a 5.30pm slot on Saturday's; certainly going on the first episode it should be on the edge of primetime rather than at the heart of it. However it did hold up well and Mrs. Brown's Boys did very well to grow away from the junction.

Cornwall did ok at 8pm for ITV1 but the standout rating for the night is EastEnders which did very well at 8pm and Farewell Pat pulled in a very good figure at 8.30pm. Coronation Street is going through a quiet spell at the moment with the 8.30pm episode dented by Farewell Pat. Emmerdale did ok at 7pm.

Channel 4's figures held up without hitting the heights an anniversary evening could have done. BBC Two struggled; University Challenge seems slightly low compared to other weeks and the 9pm hour looks poor. Channel 5 was also squeezed out with only Hitch getting over the 1m mark.

I think Panorama is at 9pm because of the subject matter. Public Enemies is about a freed convicted murderer so perhaps not best to show today after Panorama at 8pm.

And before that C5 have Cowboy Builders, which has been given a boost by last minute Panorama opposition, so should rate well for C5

Also seen some 'When Paddy met Sally' trailers (on nect Monday) and it doesn't look that bad actually.”

Thirteen: Conspiracy has not been promoted at all. Not even at the end of programmes from what I've seen. But hey, you never know, it might find an audience given what it faces. Cowboy Builders will probably start low, dented by Millionaire which will lift ITV1 to well above average figures in that slot, and the arrival of the endless January lifestyle/fitness shows on Channel 4 with Fat Fighters.

As for When Paddy Met Sally, it looks okay. Interesting to see John Bercow in the trailer. Not sure how big his role is going to be in the programme but it might help garner a bit more attention from the critics etc than it might otherwise get.

I also noticed that in Scotland River City remained scheduled for 8pm even when the rest of the network's schedule changed. Perhaps the lack of consistency across the nations was also a contributing factor.

digiguide just updated to show it at 8pm, this is some real last minute schedule changing.

Wonder what this means for Public Enemies / Hustle.

I think its time to put the Downton/EE Xmas Day discussion to bed now. The thread is totally out of control with it all. The overnights and officials are now both released along with the BBC3 repeat and ITV's +1 showing. I think you can just make your own minds up now about who won, and I'm surprised anyone even cares now after all this. I know I certainly don't.

As for last night, Endeavour did pretty much in line with how I thought it would rate. I think if Corrie would have been in better health it would have boosted it further. Speaking of Corrie, those are some pretty grim overnights for the first Monday in January it has to be said, and massively down on last year. Emmerdale also down big time on last night. Only EE did well in the soaps last night mainly thanks to the Pat Storyline. Channel 4 also had a very good night IMO. Much better than I was expecting.

Sam Hodges has now confirmed Public Enemies starts tomorrow and runs until Friday. Hustle's return has been delayed by a week.

What is the panorama special about tonight then for them to bump the show along?

All this talk about +1, PVR, DVD, STD, MILF.....

Send for the BBC and their Live+7 figures. That'll sort out which programmes get the most viewers. Get your finger out, BARB, this is the 21st century.

At least the report has a dig at ITV and the possible loss of advertising that comes with such a big timeshift.

Quote:
“With EastEnders coming out top in "real time" on Christmas Day, there may be implications for ITV in terms of advertising - viewers watching a recorded version of Downton Abbey could have just skipped over the commercials.”

It's the Stephen Lawrence murder, something Panorama has been covering for many years. Two of the men accused of his murder were found guilty today.

given that its the final season, I guess there is no massive rush to air it.

Absolutely no reason why BBC1 needed to pull its scheduled programmes tonight/Friday to report something that could easily be covered on the Ten news and a special at 10.35.

The ratings prospects for Public Enemies have just nosedived, The Biggest Loser and Eternal Law and L&O the opposite....

Digiguide has updated with listings out for week beginning 15th Jan, these are the details for BBC1:

- Live at the Apollo (presumably episode 7 of the unfinished series) airs on Saturday at 9.30pm.
- Call the Midwife begins Sunday at 8pm. Antiques Roadshow moves to 6 (repeats presumably?), with Sherlock at 9.
- The One Griff Rhys Jones is on Monday at 8.30. Late Kick Off returns at 11.05.
- Masterchef begins Tuesday at 9.00, and is also on Wed and Thursday at same time.
- Rip Off Britain is at 7.30 on Wednesday, followed by DIY SOS: the Big Build.
- Room 101 begins on Friday nights at 8.30.

it's a big verdict announced today. Panorama have been following Stephen Lawrence's mother all year and the programme was probably waiting to be aired.

It might get a good rating or it might not but It's an important programme and sometimes things are more important than ratings.

Oh please....so lets get something straight, the BBC take BARB figures, then add a tiny amount of additional viewing which hasn't been vetting or validated, and mainly based on 'requests' and BARB are being somehow backward and the BBC doing something amazing, magical and state of the art, thats what we're saying right? Give me strength!!

Can't they dump that back in the 2.15 in the afternoon slot?

Are BARB looking into live +7 viewers? And doesn't Nielsen use live +7 or is it something different?

Well said, ironically viewers glancing quickly at the EPG could have thought Public Enemies was a programme about the guilty parties and switched off anyway. Public Enemies will run fine tomorrow against Mamma Mia (which may get 4.0m) - and a Friday finish will be perfectly acceptable, with Hustle shunted to next week.

There seems to be little point moving it from BBC2 if it's going to be dumped against Coronation Street

Quite a weak line up there, lots of daytime-esque filler particularly on Wednesday
