Public Service came before ratings for BBC One; Panorama rated slightly worse than I expected considering how much interest there seemingly had been in the trial. EastEnders recorded another excellent figure and appears to be on a roll at the moment. Holby City's rating looks fine but the share appears to be slightly on the low side. Celebrity Masterchef performed very well at 7pm and hopefully it'll encourage the BBC to try other programming there outside 'holiday' periods other than The One Show.
BBC two had a brilliant night after a somewhat quiet monday with both Nature's Weirdest Events and King George and Queen Mary picking up brilliant ratings. have I Got Old News For You seems such odd scheduling considering the lead in and sure enough the audience disappeared with the monatchs. Eggheads performed well and I'm assuming Great British Railway Journey's held on to a lot of the audience as there was barely a dip between the teatime quiz and Hairy Bikers.
What can be said about ITV1 which hasn't been said already? Not only do they have a problem with the infamous Flopzone, Pointless is also comfortably beating The Chase. I hope the latter isn't another show that ITV1 decide to drop save for celebrity versions because ratings have dipped as it's a good format. It's been quite obvious for a while that the major issue in primetime is viewers desert the channel after Emmerdale and do not return; they need something to bring viewers back after EastEnders and I'm still surprised they haven't risked Coronation Street in the 8pm slot (with plenty of promotion) to do this. Obviously there's no point doing it now with another revamp around the corner.
The Bank Job held on to it's audience which will be a relief to Channel 4, even if it didn't launch that well. Accused performed decently, and it was good scheduling to air something about a 74 Stone babysitter straight after Fat Fighters! The latter may have rated slightly lower than Channel 4 would have liked but it didn't disgrace itself. Hollyoaks is comfortably above the 1m mark once again and the show has had something of a turnaround since last spring when we were talking about whether Channel 4 would put it out of it's misery.
Does anybody have a figure for Trucks, Trailers and Tinsel on Channel 5 (7pm-7.55pm) please?

It shouldn't have rated any lower than OK! TV. Charley Boorman's Extreme Frontiers didn't do brilliantly though Cowboy Builders performed reasonably well in the 8pm slot. However, the likes of CSI have managed double the figure of XIII: the Conspriacy which must count as a disappointment considering how the other channels also struggled in the slot.
BTW, are Channel 5 really scheduling a half hour news bulletin at 5pm and 6.30pm from 16th January? Surely they could've found something to fill one of the slots?
