Once again I fell asleep during the BBC's Christmas Day movie. I bet loads of viewers with BARB boxes do the same and forget to turn their thing off so they still count in the ratings! 
Nothing for me now until McIntyre at 10.30. Pretty bad, I wish Royal Bodyguard was on tonight.
Exactly. Also, AFAIK it was just a repeat of Trucks, Trailers and Tinsel first shown back in January but given a new title. With a peak of 1.6 million it did really well and bodes well for World's Toughest Trucker. It seems viewers cannot get enough of this genre, even the daytime repeats of IRT do pretty damn well compared to other daytime programmes on the channel.
I missed it last year and I was shocked at how watchable it was, a real treat for Xmas. As countdown shows go you wouldn't find many better made examples than this. I didn't think it would crack 1m again though considering it aired in an identical slot last Xmas Eve.
I'm quite pleased with how Channel 5's Xmas is going so far, better than last year. Today will be a disaster as they've thrown in the towel with the made-for-TV films in primetime and the show about Christmas Songs which people will surely be bored stupid of hearing by now, but I expect tomorrow's day of musicals and Carry On Tuesday to be very high raters. Ben-Hur with an all star cast could also do well on Wednesday, although I kind of wish they'd split it up over two nights as it finishes really late.

Meanwhile - All Star Family Fortunes is my first encounter of Amy Childs outside of photographs in newspapers. She makes Katie Price look like Kate Middleton. No wonder her Channel 5 series bombed. You wouldn't really want to spent any more time in her company than absolutely necessary.
Same with Tamara Eccleston, I imagine. (She hasn't been on Family Fortunes yet so I can't really say.
) Memo to the commissioner at Channel 5 - before you commission any more of these type of programmes, try spending 24 hours in the company of the programme subject to see if the Brtiish public will want to.
EastEnders looked weak last night. In fact, it's looked weak for months now. I'm expecting a pretty poor rating for its standards on Xmas Day in the low 9m range.
With Downton there is a greater range of possibilties. I do expect it to be very heavily timeshifted and it's just a case of whether or not enough people will watch before 2am tomorrow to be counted in the overnights. I think it will probably clear 8m and possibly be nearer 9m, but I'm not confident enough that I would put a bet on it.

I've predicted 8.9m for Downton, high but not too high. Doctor Who was very good, shoud get 9-10m.
Looking forward to Ab Fab tonight, think having 3x30m rather than an hour long episode will hopefully it's funny.
Next Christmas, I think it should be Miranda, Royle Family and Mrs Brown's Boys although it depends how it does tomorrow, looks like a hoot.

Debra Stevenson on Strictly reminds me that we used to get Impressions on Christmas Day, I remember Alistar McGowan was given a Christmas Day slot a few times, I'd love to see it return as it was always very funny.
Yeah, McGowan's show was great. Far better than The Impressions Show with Culshaw & Stephenson these days. Hopefully it'll come back one day.

I think I've overestimated massively on Comedy Roadshow and Doctor Who.
Is ITV overrunning and is BBC1 overrunning? It's already 20:57 and Corrie hasn't finished so it looks that there won't be any adverts between the end of Corrie and Downton. SCD just finishing, so the junctions will be touch and go. Appears to me like both shows will be on time.

Gavin and Stacey I'm unsure of because James Corden going to Broadway with One Man Two Guvnors so writing an episode with Ruth Jones may be tricky. Think Royle Family should be back along with Miranda as the Christmas Special was commisioned along with the third series.
And film wise, they have the rights to some strong 2009/2010 films such as Up, How To Train Your Dragon, Alice in Wonderland to name but a few Alice IMO should air on Boxing Day 2012 in primetime although it's family friendly enough for an afternoon slot.

Good clean fight at the 9pm junction with no funny business. SCD and CS ran close to 9pm, but BBC1 aired trails and ITV found a couple of advertisers (granted sofa and disinfectant ads are not DA's usual calibre), and EE and DA both started at 9pm on the dot and at the precise same moment. (I was on duty at the conservatory portable watching picture in picture - sad b###### aren't I? )
FWIW, the Sykes parental home is watching Alan Carr at the moment and taping EE. Comedy all the way now here....
