Well barely any telly at all in our house - only The Queen and The Gruffalo's Child. Seems to cause too many arguments, but the parents will be watching Downton in the coming days, and I'm watching a bit of EE now upstairs. Think a lot of us will watch Michael McIntyre later.

Caught a bit of Strictly - looked awesome, they do these themes so well now. Looked brilliant fun.

Ratings will be interesting. Twitter trending topics have followed BBC1's schedule very closely today - think all of BBC1's programmes have been top trends.

Anyway I'm being called to play a game downstairs... Lol... Catch you all later...

This is not a Downton Abbey household.

It's 2 (out of 4) for Eastenders, 1 listening to CDs and I've got Carry On Up The Jungle on ITV3 on as background.

My viewing today has been You've Been Framed and Family Fortunes on ITV1, the first of the two Blackadder The Third episodes shown on BBC2 and later it will be Ab Fab and maybe Michael McIntyre (though I may head to bed before the end.)

The Morecambe & Wise Xmas 1971 show on BBC1 this morning clashed with pressie opening so the TV was off, but one of my presents was the Morecambe & Wise BBC Collection boxset (20 DVDs, 2865 minutes of viewing) so I watched the Christmas 71 episode on DVD straight after so I count that as part of my Christmas Day viewing. The DVD episode ran longer than the TV showing.

(I was on duty at the conservatory portable watching picture in picture - sad b###### aren't I? )

FWIW, the Sykes parental home is watching Alan Carr at the moment and taping EE. Comedy all the way now here....”

So Robbie's a neutral in the morning then?

Yep and the BBC have used their Brains this year
Ended on a huge Cliffhanger and the Massive Explosion is Tommorow night at 9:00pm so i fully expect the highest rating for them of the year

EastEnders was good tonight, even if it failed to lift itself as it normally does at Christmas, oddly no big fireworks, even with the dramatic moments the episode contained.

Fireworks are tomorrow, literally. Boxing Day definately seems to be much bigger than Xmas Day this year.

Yeah it does seem that way and i guess the BBC had a small Idea Downton would go against it so save the Even Bigger episode for Boxing day

The BBC need to promote the fact it's on at 9:00PM though and hopefully soap fans will switch to BBC1 after corrie as usual

Ab Fab was good but it took a little while to get going, looking forward to the NYD episode, that should rate well behind Sherlock although it depends on how it does tonight.

Think there's one more episode centered around the Olympics, wonder if BBC One would schedule it after the Opening Ceremony rather than the news?

EE and DA both started at 9.01pm (on my Virgin + box anyway), EE finished at 10.01pm.
The only potential argument could be Ab Fab, which although due to begin at 10pm, actually started at 10.04pm.

Even if Downton does win, with it's large granny audience, BBC1 has had a cracking night in terms of quality tv and I'm sure has won comfortably in the younger demo's. Ab Fab went down well, as is Michael McIntyre.

Can't wait to see the ratings - very hotly anticipated by a lot of people, not just us ratings geeks!

Think Ab Fab could come back as yearly specials given how well the first of the three specials has gone.

I hope MMCR does well. I can see this being on every Christmas if this is a hit in the ratings tonight.

I agree it'll be likely on again next year but probably not on Christmas Day. Any Irish viewers watch The Mrs Brown's Boys special on RTE? It'll likely get its highest ratings ever after The Royal Bodyguard tomorrow, they advertised it after Ab Fab.

I've watched SCD and EE tonight. Thank heavens for live pause, though because there must have been a lot of water in all those potatoes and sprouts I had today. Good job I don't have a BARB box. I'd have fused their system with all my to-ing and fro-ing.

DW and MMCR recorded for when my bladder settles down.

February, at this rate...
