Chris Rene and Marcus Canty
Niwdog

Am I crazy to think that Chris Rene is absolutely awful? I just dont get this "personality shines through in music" thing...

Despite the rollercoaster ride with Marcus Canty, he is easily marketable as a jason derulo-esque singer-dancer performer who sings more soulful but not too vocally-challenging songs that wud fit in the RnB genre; kind of like the Usher of 1999-2008. But he could afford to appear a bit more contemporary whilst still sounding genuine (unlike contemporary RnB) with the soulful-sounding element.

But the live show performances make me feel like L.A doesnt really get marcus at all. Each week has felt like marcus getting more and more divorced from his inherent style week by week. Marcus could easily fit into the US market and sell easily by sticking to his style and being marketted in the way i said before, but i can just tell L.A Reid and Syco are just going to ruin him completely with cheap techno songs if THEY make him into a mainstream artist and not someone who gets him more. I dont think they realise he is an Usher-type/JasonDerulo RnB artist that could potentially make them millions this way

Since people who listen to that type of music don't watch the X-Factor whats the point. Just ask Misha.

I feel like LA is trying to make Marcus into Bobby Brown, who hasn't been popular or relevant since the 90s.

Chris is not right for this kind of show. He's better doing his own stuff; he struggles adapting songs to his style.

Marcus obviously isn't popular, 4 weeks in a row in the bottom.

not that good a singer. his voice isnt flexible enough. also he's dancing with no breath control so he sounds really out of breath and the vocals suffer.
