I honestly thought Aliona learned from her mistake from last year in the dreadful show dance she did with Matt. But yet again she is putting in lots of lifts to show off Harry's athletic skills. Harry should be doing a fun ballrom number, like Camilla and Tom's dance. He will not win and Chelsea will. Although Jason's will probably be the best show dance.

I genuinely don't think she will; Aliona's choreography has been a lot better this year than last. She's been using the lifts in dances she has been allowed to, within the rules. I'm really looking forwards to seeing what she comes up with.

Jason's showdance looks most like a showdance. Think Kristina has taken a leaf out of Camilla's book - and it is a song never used before. Aliona has nicked Jodie and Ian's jive song.

Aliona that was lazy - there are plenty of songs that would have worked and you have taken an easy option

Chelsee's looks dicod dancing with lifts. Don't think Len will be too crazy about that. He has always said he likes to see a mixture of the dances learned in showdances.

If Jason does win it will be deserved because his pro partner has pulled out all the stops with the showdance and the routines with him

And you have seen their showdance when? We dont know what they are doing, we know they are doing lifts cause they have the american smooth which has alot of lifts, and the AT (granted they are voted through to perform them). We have no idea how many lifts they are doing in their showdance, from the looks of it, it looks like a jive/charleston/hip lop kinda dance

It was revealed on ITT last night the music choices, and I do know for a fact that Harry and Aliona's music is the same as Jodie and Ian's jive music

Jodie and Ian's jive was to Great Ball's of Fire. And it is the misoc Aliona has chosen for the showdance. That is what I was calling lazy

But he is doing an American Smooth and a Quickstep, not to mention AT which isn't strictly ballroom (hee!) but has a lot in hold. A fun, ballroom number would highlight the lack of Latin that he is doing in the final, and besides it was inevitable that Kristina would do an old-school showman's number with ballroom elements.

Jason's song has been used before - Chris Hollins' quickstep.

If Harry and Aliona should have gone for ballroom, then why will Chelsee win, who's doing disco? I really think disco is a less vote-winning choice than rock and roll and I don't think Harry's showdance looks like it will be all lifts from the training films. I agree with perdiedumpling that a ballroom showdance would have meant he was in hold for all four dances and might have made him look as if he was running scared of being out of hold.

Much as I hate to think it, I think it's Pasha who has made the wrong choice in going for disco, though I can see why he did. Still, even if it is a mistake, it is only his first series and he's done so much right.

Not everyone wants to see a rerun of Tomzilla's showdance every year anyway. If anybody does they can always go to Youtube. If someone REALLY wants to do something that galvanises the vote, then it has to be something new (as Tomzilla's was at the time). I'm not sure any of the pros are doing that, but Aliona's probably coming closest. Of course that means it has to be good, but that's harder to predict, because showdances are very rarely liked and very rarely make a difference anyway.

The point is that the showdance gives you total creative freedom to do what you want music wise. And it is disappointing when professionals raid the used cupboard for songs when they could find something with a little bit of imagination

Perhaps she didn't even know that the song had been chosen before and is using her imagination in choosing it and choreographing a routine for it?

Hali's showdance looks brilliant - its not just a bunch of lifts, its the whole rock n roll with jive steps by the look of it. I think his looks the best. I know I'm biased as he's my favourite anyhow but I think he has the best choice of songs for the night with the new dances. 'Can't Help Falling In Love" should be an absolute winner in Blackpool for the AS. Will create a great atmosphere.

I heard Len complimenting Harry this morning on the Chris Evans show on their Jerry Lee Lewis song choice for the showdance - I suppose it reminds him of his youth I think if Aliona has choreographed a good routine for it they're in with a strong chance of winning - he's ahead with the bookies afterall.

I still dont understand whats so wrong, so she took a song that has been performed to before, its been done plenty of times in both strictly and dancing with the stars, hardly the crime of the century.

Actually it does annoy me when I see previous songs being reused. I am a Jason fan but I admit Kristina maybe could have picked a different song for their jive

In the beginning I thought she's going to ruin Harry's chances. But the past few weeks she has shown that she's more than capable of choreographing routines that sticks to the basics required of the particular dance they are performing. So I no, I don't think Aliona will ruin Harry's chance in the final now...

To be honest I can't remember some of the songs from this series let alone previous ones I would imagine that a huge percentage of viewers will have no recollection of songs being used before.

Whereas when Chris Hollins danced to Dancing Fool, that was Kristina's second series. So if you are going to criticise Aliona, criticise Kristina as much, if not more.
