I didn't know it had been used- so yes my stance is the same as using GBOF

They've reused so many song this series it hardly matters now!

Ian's and Jodie's jive was so long ago and Chris Hollins hardly did justice to 'Dancing Fool' - I distinctly remember him messing up his QS routine because he forgot most of the steps!

From what I know having watched ITT all week, we've seen a couple of clips of the showdances, nothing more. Pasha's talked about lifts, Kristina's talked about lifts, Aliona's talked about lifts - nothing strange there. Showdances are about showing off a celebrity's skills, and lifts have 'wow' factor, so if the celeb can do them, there's nothing wrong with putting them in. Just because Tom and Camilla's showdance was succesful doesn't mean everyone has to emulate that, and if I remember correctly it had plenty of lifts in it too.

Harry doesn't have to do a ballroom showdance, and in fact it would be rather stupid if he did given he already has 2 classic ballroom dances in his programme. And if you're going to criticise Harry's showdance for not being ballroom, I take it you also think Chelsee's making a dreadful mistake with her disco showdance?

Aliona that was lazy - there are plenty of songs that would have worked and you have taken an easy option”

I didn't realise Jodie and Ian had copyright on that song....

Aliona's allowed to use whatever song she wishes, same with all the pros in all the series. If she thinks that's the best song for their showdance, that's up to her. Most of the audience won't even remember that the song has been used before, and I'll be concentrating on the actual routine I'm watching, not worrying whether I've heard this music on Strictly before.

Chelsee's looks dicod dancing with lifts. Don't think Len will be too crazy about that. He has always said he likes to see a mixture of the dances learned in showdances.

If Jason does win it will be deserved because his pro partner has pulled out all the stops with the showdance and the routines with him”

many songs have been re-used in this years Strictly - does that make all of the pros lazy? or is this just another "lets bitch about Aliona again" thread

I think viewers like a dance more when it's danced to a song they know, one they can silently sing along with. They'll get more votes if they use music that's familiar and good to dance to, even if it has been used before a few series ago.

I think this wholde Disco thing has got a bit out of hand. Yes it's a disco floor filler song but it has Chacha and jive elements which you could easily see from the side by sides they're doing in it. etc

Why am I not surprised? Another 'let's hate on Aliona for something' thread, and then it turns out Kristina's done the same if not worse. Classic .

I'm looking forward to Harry's showdance....Kristina is the one being lazy (or clever) by reusing steps from their other dances.

and Kristina is using a song that Chris and Ola used - are you going to call her lazy too?

I think Harry has a great chance of winning. I've loved Aliona's dances this year, so go Harry and Aliona!!

I really hope it isn't anything like Matt's hip-hop type showdance

Can't you just enjoy the show ? Or comment in a constructive way if you have an issue ?

I love ballroom , much more than latin, but have got to agree with this. Aliona has to vary things a bit and show off Harry's full range of abilities.
I think Alionas's been great recently. She's shown a softer side to her personality.

It's only his sleeves that are coming off.

Isn't Harry doing a Viennese Waltz based AS?? He only did that last week.

Clever, or lazy, by Aliona as well then.

Plus if their Showdance is jive/swing based then that' s going to be compared along side Chelsee's Jive.

With Jason and Chelsee having the dreaded Rhumba/Salsa as their Latin, then Harry must be a shoe-in, as 3 of his dances are in hold, to show off his lovely frame etc.

So far I think Aliona, and she's not my favourite, has been fairly clever in her choice of dances in the final for Harry.

I wouldn't describe it as disco at all, it's a musical theatre song, isn't it? It's uptempo, but I never thought of it as disco.

I would imagine Chelsee's showdance to be similar to The Halfpenny's.

Just for the record, there has been no end of reusing songs this series and last series. We have now endured 3 (!) waltzes to Dee C. Lee's "See The Day" - series 4, 6 and 9.

Last year as an example Flavia and Jimi didn't dance to a single piece of original music except their Week 1 Cha Cha Cha... It happens!

Moreover Showdance-wise, Pamela and James reused the same song Brendan and Natasha had for their OWN Freestyle routine, Chris and Ola reused Chris and Hanna's "Jive" music, Brendan and Lisa reused Matt and Lilia's Paso Doble music for tinfoil-gate... So you know what - it happens!

It doesn't detract from Aliona's talent as a choreographer - it's just fact. And yes, Kristina is reusing Cola's Quickstep music and IMO Chelsee and Pasha's choice isn't too far removed from Last Dance used by Ricky and Natalie.

Grow up and enjoy the final! Although I'm sure you'll all reserve the right to bitch about the result afterwards even though half of you won't vote!

I don't think ANY of their songs had already been used before (??) ...When were they used?

I remember they used the same paso music as Erin used for Colin. Not sure on the rest. Can't believe Fever had never been used before though.

ETA : Erin used it with Julian for his foxtrot. I like to believe this makes Erin and Flavia spiritual twins. I bet she had to struggle with her SOUL not to use dummies for her showdance with Matt. (Maybe the blow-up variety...) (filth...)

its not up to he judges tonight its how the public votes that count. So Len, craig, Aleshia and Bruno don't really need to be there their opinions are unimportant!

Their Charleson music was also Bill and Karen's quickstep

So does that make Flavia/Erin/Karen triplets

Jodie and Ian used Mr Pinstripe suit for their Quickstep as well.

Well that will be that argument redundant then...

I liked all of the songs they used....and so did everyone else by looks of things
