Yes, I'm clearly in the presence of great intellect whilst surrounded by fans of a kids' TV show. She's turned in more top-notch performances during her EastEnders stint alone than many accomplished television actresses achieve in their entire careers. She's worthy of far more than a secondary role in such frippery. Karen Gillan's better off out of it, too. But on the bright side, that girl who played Tracy Beaker is probably free.

Doctor Who isn't a kid's show. The last series' main complaint from people was that it wasn't child friendly enough...
Unless the Dr Who role requires her to shout & scream, whilst continually being pissed off, I doubt she'd be any good at it anyway.

I don't watch Eastenders, but from what i've seen of her she seems like she'd be a wonderful companion. =] I view the role of companion as a great honour, no way is it beneath her!
Well I'm going to try and be sensible and say that I loved Lacey in Eastenders, and think she's a great actress. I also think that she's probably versatile enough to be a wonderful Doctor Who companion.
If you like Doctor Who and if you don't, fair enough. But to suggest that a national institution like DW is "garbage" and a "kids show" and that a main role in it is "beneath" just another very good soap actress is stupid. I love DW, but I can fully understand why others don't. Yet here you are deeming them worthy of posting about, anyway.
So soap awards aren't reputable, but the stature of an actress should be measured by the amount of work she does rather than the quality?
