TV in the bedrooms?
I've TV's and computers (base units) in my four bedrooms.
They all have access to my main PC/film collection and catchupTV and the internet. Its nice sometimes if you can't sleep to watch something (not porn before some idiot asks, well, unless that works for you). My grandchildren share one room when stopping over and their telly is on a time switch, 21:00 (20:00 weekdays) and its off. So, do others use a telly in the bedroom much? |

I can think of two things the bedroom is used for, one is sleeping and the other is not.
![]() ![]() I have one in the TV room and one in the Study which is more than ample for my needs... .

I can think off three resaons the bedroom is used - sleeping yes - bed activity yes - but also chilling out and sometimes its nice just to watch something or listen to something whilst lying on the bed doing nothing else.

Oh and cheers for asking -I'd raised the question on another thread about this and had a reply from Joddle on the TVs in the home in Valencia. |

Oh those lucky people who have a study
Don't we all? One can't call one's home home without a study . I actually call mine my 'music room', books and music only now, there is a TV but its never really used to be honest, bit of a waste of dosh.

Since the previous posting it seems more and more FMs are seeking advice as to having tellies suitable for the bedrooms or getting their signal distributed to that room. Still don't get it.

No screen in our bedroom either. The wife hates that kind of thing. We have an iPad, iPod touch's and a laptop for watching things should we choose to do that. One large screen in the sitting room is enough for us. We used to have a 32" screen in our bedroom which is where i gamed for a while until the wife decided she didn't like it anymore and chucked me and my games console into the sitting room. I thought i'd be able to get my own back but oh no, i'm made to wear a headset while gaming at night so she can't hear it

One of my very few own rules.. no telly in the bedroom. The bedroom is for sleep and baby making only

Its meant to be very bad to have TV/PC or anything like that in a room where you sleep.
I put a small TV in my bedroom once and took it out a few weeks later as never even switched it on, Mind you I dont watch the TV in the living room either |

I'd love a chaise longue, do they still make them or are they antiques?
No, they are still made... Both in a modern style and based on the older shapes......I think DFS and Harveys do one, so probably others do as well. Mine was an old one we bought and had reupholstered. Here are some that are about now. There are lots cheaper than those about. Happy hunting. |

Why have a TV in the bedroom? Because myself and my wife have very different tastes in TV (i.e. I can't stand Soaps) and if I want to watch documentaries I am only going to get grief for taking the screen away from her!
Not owning a mansion with the capacity for two TV viewing lounges the bedroom is the next biggest room with a modicum of comfort where one can watch TV (I don't find sitting in an office chair in the 'computer' room condusive to long periods of TV veiwing). |

We have a tv in the bedroom but very rarely use it unless I am watching F1 and my wife wants to watch something else.
It is useful in case one of us is confined to bed (ill) for any reason. Back in 1971 I had a KB dual standard set in my bedroom and I used to watch Spyforce on ATV midlands 405 CH 8 but you could not watch tv then all night because it used to closedown around midnight. Andy |

we have a TV in the bedroom. Nice to just chill out sometimes and also we don't have any in the kids bedrooms so they watch ours sometimes. Its nice just to all have a lay in with all 4 of us and put on a family movie sometimes.

yes.
Well, I still live at home with parents, and we don't live in a masion with enough space for 2 lounges / area for TV. So I have a TV with PC base unit in my bedroom. I used to just be happy with a small set, but recently upgraded to a 32" Panasonic, Which will be my main TV when I move out. (hopefully) If I lived on my own and had exclusive use of the lounge, I would not want a TV in the bedroom. |

I have a TV in the bedroom (only a 19" flat screen) but I hardly every use it. When I'm in bed I much prefer the radio.

I have a TV in the bedroom but since last month it doesn't pick anything up. I occasionally look half-heartedly for a cheap Freeview box but for the amount of use it would get anything over a tenner's too much.
