O2 GPRS settings for email on Nokia 6820
I have a Nokia 6820 on an O2 pay monthly tarrif. I can use WAP and MMS over GPRS with no trouble at all, but when I try to use the email application over a GPRS connection with the same settings it just says 'creating GPRS connection' for ages then hangs on the email download progress bar. If I access the same mail account using a dialup connection to 915000 it works fine.
Any ideas??? |

You need the "Mobile Web" GPRS settings in order to do this over GPRS. You can get them sent to your phone from either the O2 or Nokia Website. These settings are additional to the WAP GPRS settings you already have.
Depending on your tariff you may need to get Mobile Web activated on your account. If you are with O2 Uk, rather than O2 Online, you can buy an add-on so the data is transferred at a reduced price. The WAP over GSM (via 915000) includes internet access, which is why it works. |
