How nice for you.

I can't see it in 3D but I am recording it in 3D for a later date.

In fact I've got both on at the same time and it's interesting the different shots they are using. More long shots with chandlers hanging in the way for the 3D version.

Yes instead of a close-up (two shot) of the couple talking afterwards, it's a full length shot from head to toes so that the crowd behind them makes them stick out forwards.

Filming 3D is a different ball game and must be a nightmare doing a live show with two sets of cameras and two directors! - Good luck to them all!

Wow, it has really brought the show to life, loving it in 3D.

Still don't understand why the 2D presentation can't be produced from 1 "side" of the 3D cameras.

Although having said that it could make sense to have it separately as what's best for 2D would not make the most of 3D and vice/versa.

Yes no close up shots of the judges faces and sticking to a shot with all 4 on screen. They need a background subject to get the full 3D effect.

Interesting stuff!

Well yes it could be as can be seen by comparing the 2, they are very different beasts.

If they just showed you one side of the 3D you would get no real close up shots and work well in 2D but not in 3D.

In the 3D version, anytime they use a big close-up in the 2D version they cut to either a longer shot, the crowd or the crane full view shot.

So they have taken the right approach, but it makes doing it 10 times more complex.

What a waste of money and time adding it to 3D. . BBC 1 HD seems a little different. Closer...

I think there will be people watching it tonight that never usually bother (I know at least one person that hates it that'll tune it for a while) the detail of the floor looks incredible in 3d.

Yes I don't normally watch it and don't even have a 3D TV, but I'm a geek and watching it for the technical aspect. (Plus there is nothing else on!)

I do however want Harry to win purely coz he is fit!

Am I being spectacularly dense? I've tried the HD channel on Freeview and Sky but can't see the 3D? Yes, I have a 3D set before anyone asks!

No, that's BBC ONE HD on 143. (That's the 2D version)

Kinda annoying that tess?? Isn't looking at the 3d camera during the after dance interview. Noticed lots of other differences between the 2 broadcasts no where near as many camera changes in 3d and a lot more wider shots ... good to see 3d on the BBC

That's a time when they could have just shot that on one 3D camera and just used one side for the 2D transmission.

Still, I expect they are going to review it later and learn from it.

You have to select '3D' in your TV settings.
