Oh I agree about the Tango, I know reading back my posts in this thread it's looked like I think Aliona's blameless, but my apologies for not being clear, I don't think she's saintly, I know her choreography's not perfect. What I'm trying to say is I don't agree with how she's singled out on this forum when other pros do exactly the same thing and the judges are hopeless at applying whichever rules are supposed to exist.

Life would be so much easier if we went back to the series 4/5 days where faffing around basically just didn't happen!

It's not smear tactics! I didn't dislike her before those comments (although I wasn't a fan either, her choreography just confused me rather than infuriated me) so it wasn't like that was an action to stoke a simmering fire- it was that moment which turned it for me! From then on I just couldn't shake the conceit she has that she knows best. Does that make me a worse person?

The only fault she still has is not sorting out Harry's hands. Drove me nuts right form very early on and were still awkward tonight.

For someone who said she does not listen she has proven the opposite. Particularly over the last few weeks.

I think my point stems on this. As I mentioned to another poster- the likes of Nancy Russell and Robbie relied on the entertainment factor because their technique wasn't all there; even though Flavia tried to include a lot of steps for Russell, it's clear where the swing was for his voters.

Harry and Matt were never dependant on the entertainment vote, because they were able dancers from week 1! So Aliona's choreography felt unnecessarily selfish. Make the public look at Ola instead of Robbie was clever, making the public look at Aliona instead of Harry was bizarre :S

But agreed. People say it's the best final ever- I disagree-
Rachel/Tom/Lisa was my particular fave,
There was Zoe/Darren/Colin
Jill/Denise/Julian
Matt/Alesha/Gethin
Mark/Matt/Emma

Even Pam/Matt/Kara seemed to top it for me...

(Basically every other final except season 1 and the year Ricky and Chris made up the final 2 XD)

The thing in common is they all lacked the amount of props that series 9 did...

Oh well- never mind eh?

The way I look at that is:

Aliona is a professional dancer with 10-dance experience and has worked at teaching dancers for years. If she is hired to teach a celeb to dance and cant do it without the guidance of Alesha, Bruno, Craig and Len all giving their different opinions then she shouldn't have been hired in the first place. Especially when Len can do a 180 degree turn from week to week like he did about lifts.

The in hold content of Aliona's American Smooth was probably higher than Kristina's or Pasha's and Len didn't have a problem with them. I dont mind as long as everyone is judged the same - I thought Pasha's AS was a beautiful dance.

Holly, Pamela and Chelsee were all to some extent natural dancers. The only people who've got non-natural dancers to a final are Lilia with Darren and Ola with Chris.

I hope you'll be applying the same standard to Artem, Ola, Flavia, Anton and all the other pros who produced content-lite routines this year, not just Aliona. Some of them were far more guilty of it than her.”

Actually I like Aliona she has worked hard with Harry her choregraphy has been great. He wasn't my favorite but the 2 of them are worthy winners. I think she is one of the better professionals.

I have no idea why Aliona isn't liked. I think she helped Harry enormously. They were a great partnership and their QS and AT brought me a lot of joy.

You're right, she's so selfless and humble!”

And she is different from the rest, how???????

[quote=pork.pie;55361116]The only thing that makes up for Chelsee Healey losing is that Aliona won... I don't get where you are coming from... but whatever![/QUOTE

I don't get it either. I love Aliona.. Should she be more like, lets say, Ola "grrrrr face "Jordan, or Kristina "boo hoo" Rihanoff. Thanks, but I'd take Aliona anyday]

Everything Pasha does is beautiful, per se. But Aliona got the best out of Harry

Agree 100% - Aliona has been very clever and despite saying she didn't listen to the judges she clearly did. Much more "proper" dancing and less "faffing about". Plus, Harry has talent which always helps! He is a bit robotic though!

I just wish people would not say Chelsee "lost" - she didn't she came second - a silver medallist really! I think the result, based on the night, was right. Harry was less nervous than Chelsee but of the two, I think Chelsee is the more naturally gifted.
