Tonight's ratings must be huge!!

Excellent shows tonight and I am having this feeling that ratings are going to be very high and may even overtake xfactor ratings.

I know strictly has already beaten xfactor in ratings this year.

I sincerely hope so because tonight was a fantastic final. We had three excellent dancers who on any given night could have won.

It's one of the best Strictly finals, though it wasn't the best series. I hope tonight they get more than 12 million viewers.

yeah tonight was special, what a finale. so pleased for everyone involved!
highlights for me:
- harry's quickstep and argentine tango
- jason's showdance
-Chelsee's rumba (made me cry!)

have to say... and i feel a bit queasy saying it...but i thought tess had a graet night presenting too, it just all seemed a bit more nature from her. plus that second dress she wore - wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Strictly totally shows X Factor up as the cynical manipulated profit obsessed scripted rubbish it is. It truly deserves to utterly trounce XF in the ratings.

I was thinking the same thing as I was watching the final. As much as I have enjoyed this series there weren't many "wow" dances for me. There were lots of very good dances but, very few stand out routines.

The judges did their best by over-marking Jason who was trailing in the opinion polls to make the second show a ""big finish" event.
He was always going to come third as far as the public were concerned as he was never as popular as the other two.

They did not overmark Jason, as they set the standard with 39 for Harry's Showdance.

Seeing as Jason did a better Showdance, what mark could they have given him?

Even though we had probably the closest final ever in terms of ability, improvement, age, etc, it was always clearcut for me how it was going to end up.

Harry was always going to win, with his current or ex teenie fanbase. Chelsee was always going to beat Jason as she always portrayed herself as a child and was therefore likely to poll more votes than a competing adult.

Still a very enjoyable Saturday night viewing, even though it went entirely as I expected.

Down on last year, but expected as no widespread snow this year...

The judges didn't really mark properly last night.

Craig didn't criticise much and any failings in a dance he merely docked one point.

Jason's show dance though really should not have got 40. At the start his cane was above his head whilst kristina's was down, the undressing was a bit messy but it built to a great ending which managed to erase the judges minds of any faults.

The best dancer won on the night no question about that, and Jason finishing top of the leader board whilst not really deserved at least gave him a bit of hope.

Chelsee was definitely nervous last night, leading to her dances not just being right on the money as they have been, although she still did a great job. Dances of the night were Harry's QS and Chelsee's rumba.

I don't remember Harry getting 39 for the showdance .

And the ratings weren't is high as expected if the ratings thread is to be believed then. Still best final ever though IMHO.
