Was Jessie J live?

This might sound a stupid question but was this pre recorded during 8pm-9pm? I went to the cinema to watch it 3D and there was a technical fault when the show started again at 9 - we could hear the singing but no picture. I thought it sounded like Alesha opening the show and thought no great loss at missing out on her - the picture then came back just as they were about to announce 3rd place - phew! It then confused me when Jessie J started and it was the same song I had heard at the start?

She was prerecorded in the break but sang live.

After she sang she joked to the judges 'so what did I score? About 4?'

I think the guest act is usually recorded before the first show. As least that was what happened when I saw it at TVC.

Am interested to know what it was like at the cinema. Were there many there?

I got the impression it was recorded during the break.

Her singing was live though, that combination of caturwauling/sheep bleeting vocal gymnastics was ear achingly unmistakable.

Not sure how it could be Live...with the change of the floor, in quick time.

The cinema was pretty much packed so a big turnout. It was great to be surrounded by fellow Strictly fans with lots of cheering, clapping and booing in the cinema throughout the show. I sat in the second row and had no problems seeing all the action across the whole screen. I did at times feel like I was getting a bit of a headache from it and removed my glasses briefly which helped.

The 3D perspective occurs in wide shots as opposed to the close ups of people and they appear to be very small against the backdrop of the set. It's difficult to distinguish facial expressions in 3D and the judges all looked lop-sided to the right! It certainly made for a different viewing experience but I wouldn't rush back again next year to watch it in 3D. Maybe if I had sat more further back it would have made a difference in viewing?
