Do BBC release vote stats for the series, similar to the X Factor ones?

would be interesting though. I think if we did people would then pick at the judges scoring and work out who was 'saved' or 'sacrificied' by unfair marking, so it's probably best not to know.

Nope they don't release them because they feel it can have an unexpected effect on the celebrities if the public know who is and isn't being voted for. Also the service is provided by an independent third party (BT in this instance unless that's changed) and they won't release the figures because it would give their competitors information about their financial dealings etc.
Its a shame they're not released, but I think we can presume Harry easily had it in the bag - more so than we were predicting at first. I don't think it was as close as it could have been as Chelsee messed up, although the Rumba worked well.
Wasn't enough to help though, and by the end of the 4 dances each the bookies had Harry at 1/66 to win! Chelsee was up to 16/1 to win I think. Certainly shockingly high- by them I knew Harry had it. No way would the bookies allow that much of a drop if they weren't at least 99% sure Chelsee had lost it.

Both are poor arguments from the BBC though. The X Factor's votes are dealt with by BT and they release the figures as percentages. And Dancing On Ice release the public vote even though celebrities are taking part, as does I'm A Celebrity...

I do find it odd that the BBC - which we all pay for via the licence fee (so we deserve transparency) - never publishes any voting figures.
Why not? They could easily publish the voting ranking each week - even if they don't publish the percentages - after the final as ITV do. Why do they feel the need to hide the details?
ITV is a commercial operation so perhaps that makes a difference. I honestly don't know why but an FoI request was refused on the grounds of the third party financial figures and confidentiality clauses.

Online bookies were continuously shortening Harry's odds all night even as this forum's polls continued to affirm fan support for Chelsee. Voting totals were unquestionably obtained via inside track by the biggest bookie(s) who took a turnover of several millions on Strictly. They then confidently picked punters' pockets. The small bookies followed the big bookies. Money talked.
Thanks everyone. This is the first year I've watched Strictly right through the series so I wasn't sure.

Surely the exact opposite is the case. ITV is a private body but the BBC is a public corporation paid for by licencepayers via a compulsory tax. So the BBC has far more obligations surely to be open.
I do think not releasing the votes is wrong - its just like announcing who has won every seat in a general election without publishing voting numbers. If they just issued percentages there would be no commercial issues at all!
