I would be interested to hear which pro dancers DS members would like to see replaced next series!!

I think think they should do as they do in the American series, "rest" the pros, and let them return at a later series.

For me James, Anton, Vincent, Flavia and Antons partner (forget her name) could all be doing with a "rest".

It depends, because so long as there are duffers for celebs, I don't necessarily mind the current line-up.

But if it's based on giving each celeb the best shot at winning then I would say:

James and Ola are looking very tired choreographically. I think in Ola's case it's because she consistently gets the poorer to middle-range celebs so I would like to see her get the ringer next year to see what she comes up with. She did manage to win with a middle-range celeb so I wouldn't write her off yet. James on the other hand seems to be given a lot of talented partners, but he wastes the opportunity. He either goes down the safe, boring route or makes a complete hash of it with his use of props. I would not be sorry to see him go.

Anton and Erin are looking very weak in the latin, especially now that the BBC has recruited outstanding latin dancers like Pasha and Artem.

Vincent and Flavia have great choreography in them, but they keep getting partnered with the duffers year after year. I want to see them with better celebs next year.

I'm not really sold on Pasha - I think his routines are too complex for celebrities to dance. Obviously he has done a great job with Chelsee though, but I feel that different choreography might have shown her in a better light. I adore Katya and I am desperate to see her get a good partner - fingers crossed for next year.

Aliona and Artem have really earned their stripes over the last couple of years - I would be very disappointed if either of them didn't return for the next series.

Brendan and Natalie have really grown on me as personalities, but I don't rate Brendan as a choreographer. Natalie is great but I find her very distracting in hold because IMO she leans too far back.

Kristina has to stay really, she's definitely one of the more interesting choreographers. I feel Robin is quite weak in all areas - dancer/teacher/choreographer though he's obviously a lovely guy. If he was to stay then it should only be to teach the duffers.

Overall, I think Katya, Ola, Vincent, Kristina and Brendan are probably due a good celeb next year.

Looks like quite a few might be going if this report is anything to go by:

HOST of Strictly Come Dancing stars face the axe in an end-of-series clear- out, we can reveal.

Dancers enjoyed a late-night bash knowing it was the last time they would be together.

Sexy Ola Jordan, 29, and husband James, 33, have been earmarked for the axe over backstage rows.

A show insider last night revealed: “There could be a very different line- up this time next year. Producers are keen to keep things fresh so quite a few faces could be dropped.

“It’s going to be brutal for some of them. But that’s the way it works when you’re on telly’s top show.

Vinthent and Flav are the best dancers in the show

Vincent and Flavia are just great but have been given poor partners this last two or three years. I do wonder why? they have both been in the final so are obviously good teachers who know how to get the best out of their celebrity.

Personally have had enough of Anton, he hasn't been as much in the forefront this year so maybe he is easing himself out. Which will probably means Erin to go too. But they have had a good long run and the show is completely different to when they started it all of.

Keep Brendan, he brings a lot to the show in other ways besides dancing. Really want James to go, so much

Katya should stay. Remember how she got some sembalance of a personality out of the Gavbot last year. Like to see her get someone really talented

James and Ola have probably already outstayed their welcome on the show.

The fact that Ola won with Chris Hollins may have given them a reprieve. James in particular is always so bitter and turns it into a bit of an X Factor spat, which SCD does not want or need.

Anton is another who is long in the tooth, his Latin dance is weak and if he is always destined to get the 'comedy' act that also is wearing thin.

I was disappointed with the cull of the likes of Ian, Matthew and Brian, their replacements including Jared and Robin were not additions who had a big impact, Jared being ousted after one year.

Artem last year and Pasha this year though have been pure revelations, and really are exciting additions. The Russians seem to have the edge, top four this year all had Russian pros.

Quote from the article:
"Karen Hardy, 41, and Camilla Dallerup, 37, have been axed in the past despite both winning the title."
Pros have undoubtedly been axed in the past but not Karen or Camilla. I love the way the Daily Star uses as their example two pros who actually chose not to come back. Karen made it clear she had too many other commitments (after all, there's a big difference between doing a weekly spot on ITT/the red button commentary, and spending all day every day for three months training a celeb) and Camilla chose to leave on a high after she won.

Besides, if the BBC can axe Matthew, Ian, Darren & Lilia and Nicole etc, then why should anyone else be safe?

I hope they don't get rid of Natalie, Kristina, Artem, Pasha, Vincent or Flavia, Brendan has grown on me and I think it's only fair that Katya get one contender before they axe her (she's only had duds so far) but apart from that, I really don't mind if the rest of the lineup changes.

I kind of hope Anton, Erin (despite how good they are at Ballroom, they are just comedy dancers now) and the Jordans go.

I love Anton and Erin but agree it may be time for them to go! Tbh I'd rather they just got rid of joke dancers and made it a more serious comp, esp after acing SYTYCD and SDF, there isn't a serious dance comP on the BBC now!

I'd also not miss James, Ola, Natalie and Kristina!

I think Robin is lovely and deserves a good dancer!

The only ones I absolutely do not want to lose are: Aliona, Artem, Brendan, Flavia, Vincent

Anton has to go. If they are going to go full tilt towards silly costumes (Anton as gladiator? Didn't know whether to be more shocked/appalled/embarrassed) then Anton really hasn't the pecs-appeal.

Erin i think is definately past her best and so that includes Anton as well as much as i hate to say it!...

Christina made such an impression with me when she first came and was partnered with John Sargeant!, that must have been such a challenge as i think we all expected them to be out very early but with her great choreography she certainly made the best of him i was really pleased for her that she got such a great chance with Jason this year...

I would be really sad to see Vincent and Flavia go, although i do think Vincent has (apart from this year of course) !... had a pretty good draw the last few years with his partners!.. and has been unlucky with being pipped to the post at the end.... but!.. maybe that has been his choreography that has let him down!... who knows?...

I wasn't keen when they did the clear out a coupe of years ago wheh Artem and Robin and ?... another one came in!, who was that?.. cant for the life of me remember who the third one was!.. maybe they got rid of him after that series eh?... anyway no matter, what i wanted to say was they have really grown on me and i do think a general clear out is a good idea every so often!, anyway i am rambling so thats all i am going to say at the moment!...

Whoooshhhhhhhhh... gone................

They've been given poorer partners because they can't/won't do the tour. The public like to see their favourites on tour with the pro they danced with and so if you're not going to do the tour you're not going to get a favourite to win.

They do, however, fulfil a role: partnering the older, more limited celeb. As a stony-eyed producer, I wouldn't want to see too many of my younger, fiery, talented dancers out of the competition by week five because they are dancing with George Alagiah or Patricia Routledge.

Thanks for the explanation. In fact they are opening in a show just down the road to where I live in the first week of January, which runs for ten weeks. Obviously far more lucrative than the Strictly tour

Anton just irritates me these days, so I wouldn't be sorry to see him go. Erin, I don't really mind either way, but I guess if he goes, she will.

I'd be disappointed if Kristina, Vincent, Flavia, Pasha or Natalie went, but the rest I'm neutral about. I wonder if Artem will call time himself, soon. I think that he'll be looking to move on to other things choreography wise. I can see him doing another series, but no more.

Brendan constantly irritates me - I think he'd be happy if the programme was renamed 'The Brendan Cole Show'.

He has his own show and it is FAB and I will be seeing it for the third time next year. He is terrific and will never be axed.
