I heard that he was offered a contract by both DWTS and SCD, but chose SCD instead?
Really? That's news to me. The verrrrry long Pasha thread on the US SYTYCD forum I lurk on (started when he was on SYTYCD) has never mentioned this, and they follow his career quite closely and talk about the DWTS/SYTYCD overlap all the time. He was asked to appear on the results show and did so once with Anya, dancing to Jessica Simpson - maybe he was asked to do the result show again but couldn't fit it in? A contract on DWTS could cover anything from just dancing on the result show, doing the tour or being in the troupe.

It could be that he was invited this year and had both shows to choose from. An invitation to partner a celeb on DWTS could be for just one series as they rotate their pros a lot more than we do ours; I can understand him opting for Strictly for this reason.

Cant believe people want Vincent to go!

He & Flav come as a pair, he goes, she goes!

I dont like his lothario act either, but I think he needs to be given a shot next year as he hasnt had a contender since series 4 & if he has another go at getting the Glitterball people might re-connect with him a bit more.

Anton should go- hes done 9 series, hes 45, significantly older than the rest of the pros, & his dancing is really poor on some occasions (hard to tell who's the professional on some dances!)

Him leaving would prob spell the end for Erin too, which is sad, but tbh, I dont really notice her in the show much.

For those wanting ex-pro's back: dream on! NEEEEEVER gonna happen. As another has posted, any newbies will be younger dancers.
i dont mind if Vincent and Flavia go tbh but i cant see it happening .

I'll give them another year or 2.

I suspect one, or both of them will be given a real contender next year.

Anton to leave the show. I have been hoping for this since his fiaso partnership with Laila.

Erin wasn't the same after Austin Healey. She never seemed to have recovered from that. Hope she's like Camilla and be given someone with a good chance next year. Then she'll leave after she's won (or be in the finals).

I am bored stiff with Ola's choreography, which, since Chris Hollins, involved pivots, pivots and more bloody pivots. Or else with the male celeb standing there, legs bent trying to look sexy while Ola danced around him like a pole dancer. No no no! James can leave with his precious wife as well.

But if they are only replacing one male and female pro dancer each, I would say Anton and Ola first to go please!

I actually quite like all of the pros this year, so don't want to 'ditch' any of them. Usually I would say better the devil you know. That being said, I wouldn't mind if the Jordans and Robin moved on to other projects...

Rachel Stevens was definitely a contender in my book....

As I said, I know Vincent and Flavia come as a pair, and for that reason I'd keep Vincent, as I don't want to lose Flavia. If I was judging purely in the abstract without consideration of who partners who and the influence that has, I wouldn't have him back, and probably not James either (and I never say that!), but that's just my choice.

I agree with that. They could start by reinstating Ian, Matthew and Darren.
No - Darren was dull and ever so slightly suburban - sorry!

The Jordans, Anton and Erin should go imo.

I like pretty much everyone else. I can't see them bringing Ian back but I do miss him.

Kristina is my fave pro. I think she's a stunning dancer and a marvellous choreographer.

Jared Murillo, protegee of Moira Ross. The all-American boy who went down like a lead balloon
He must have been in and out in one series because although i remember the name i have no recollection of the face at all....

Ahhh.... Darren!, i had almost forgotten him and his ultra shine..eee locks, thinking about him reminds me they allocated a few of the pro's to a dance group only.. didn't they!.... where have they gone?..that idea didn't last long either did it!......

Really....as she is probably the most accomplished celeb to ever take to the Strictly Dance floor....sadly her twinkle toes were let down by an ever so dull persona.....I hasten to add she may well be the life and soul of the party.....or maybe not

I would boot out Brendan. I think he's full of himself. Anton next. Only because he looks out of place whenever the pros perform together.Even though he is meant to be the "go to guy" for Ballroom. I really don't see what he does in Ballroom that is superior to what the other pros can do in Ballroom. I have never forgiven Erin for what she did to Colin in SCD2005 but if I leave that behind she always choreographs a Samba-esque Salsa which I always find annoying. James Jordan can go as well

I would get rid of:

Anton (bores me silly and he is a joke pro)
which means also Erin

James Jordan, so bored with his behaviour this year
which also means Ola

Undecided:

Katya, not found her very inspiring. The argument of no good partners doesn't really hold water for me, we are constantly surprised when a duffer is good, and a potentially good partner is stiff and awful.

Robin- nice chappie, but I'm undecided

Keep:

Kristina- works well and choreographs well. Look what she did with duffer Sergeant! Their paso was such fun!

Flavia- love her!!

Artem- liked his innovative choreography this year

Aliona- second year in the final, thought she was robbed last year with Matt.

Pasha- eye candy, though I'm unsure about him still, his choreography was sometimes too complicated.

Natalie- I like her ( I loved her jive with Scott )

Brendan- have warmed to him (he used to annoy me)

Vincent - (would have to stay because of Flavia)

Anton has REALLY annoyed me since series one and I would love to see him go. He doesn't come across as genuine most of the time it just seems like an act, he is unbelievably irritating. They should have got rid of him after the Laila Rouass debarcle.

I don't have strong opinions on any of the other pros. James and Brendan mildly annoy me at times but I can't stand Anton and his latin is rubbish.

I'm worried what Kristina will look like by next year. She's got a prosthetic chest, tattooed eyeliner and lipstick, and it looks like cheek implants and something done to her teeth and top lip as well. She's going the way of Donatella (not the Hero Turtle, but close). They'll have to give her a password before they let her in next year to be on the safe side.

I think someone mentioned it in passing on the 'Chelsee Healey & Pasha Kovalev Appreciation Thread'; your sources sound much more credible than mine though! I agree, it could have been a 1 year contract or invited to do the results show, who knows?

& btw, in your earlier post you mentioned Tristan MacManus; curiosity got the better of me so I googled/YouTubed him and OHMYWORD, all I can say is GET HIM ON STRICTLY NOW! I am definitely going to be watching the next series of DWTS for him...

Well according to newspaper reports. James and Ola have been axed from the live shows as well as next year's SCD.

I think this is why James has been acting up this year, but I thought they were suppose to be professional not act like spoilt brats.

To Go:

- Anton. And it would be odd if Erin stayed too, so: Erin. Though I do like her (but her Latin is a let-down historically).

- Kristina. Not a big fan. Some choreography really works but a bit hit-and-miss. Doesn't get involved on ITT much.

- The Jordans. Personally and choreographically, not a fan.

-I think that Anton should go.He is well past his due date.He is terrible at Latin. How is he going to teach a celeb good Latin routines when he isnt even competent in that domain?I still think that Laila would have progressed more in the competition if she was partnered with someone else.
Im so tired of people saying that its not fair that he gets duffer year after year but can he really win if he has a decent celebrity?I dont think so.
At times, I feel like like Anton is not really genuine.
-If he goes then I think that Erin will follow him.I like her but her Latin is Ok compared to other pros but I kind of feel like her heart isnt in the show anymore. It seems like she wants to leave.
-James well I kind of like him.He is James plus it would be a shame if he leaves as I like Ola
-I really think that either Flavia or Vincent should get good partners next year/ or before they leave strictly.
-I absolutely loooooooove Pasha.I hope he comes back next serie.
-I dont really mind the rest.I would like Katya to get a good partner next year as well.
I really wont be surprised if Anton&Erin are not back next year.

If only that gurning clown Anton goes I will be happy, and that seems to be the general feeling here.

I wouldn't miss Erin either, but I hope Brendan stays, he has been just great this year.

It depends, because so long as there are duffers for celebs, I don't necessarily mind the current line-up.

But if it's based on giving each celeb the best shot at winning then I would say:

James and Ola are looking very tired choreographically. I think in Ola's case it's because she consistently gets the poorer to middle-range celebs so I would like to see her get the ringer next year to see what she comes up with. She did manage to win with a middle-range celeb so I wouldn't write her off yet. James on the other hand seems to be given a lot of talented partners, but he wastes the opportunity. He either goes down the safe, boring route or makes a complete hash of it with his use of props. I would not be sorry to see him go.

Anton and Erin are looking very weak in the latin, especially now that the BBC has recruited outstanding latin dancers like Pasha and Artem.

Vincent and Flavia have great choreography in them, but they keep getting partnered with the duffers year after year. I want to see them with better celebs next year.

I'm not really sold on Pasha - I think his routines are too complex for celebrities to dance. Obviously he has done a great job with Chelsee though, but I feel that different choreography might have shown her in a better light. I adore Katya and I am desperate to see her get a good partner - fingers crossed for next year.

Aliona and Artem have really earned their stripes over the last couple of years - I would be very disappointed if either of them didn't return for the next series.

Brendan and Natalie have really grown on me as personalities, but I don't rate Brendan as a choreographer. Natalie is great but I find her very distracting in hold because IMO she leans too far back.

Kristina has to stay really, she's definitely one of the more interesting choreographers. I feel Robin is quite weak in all areas - dancer/teacher/choreographer though he's obviously a lovely guy. If he was to stay then it should only be to teach the duffers.

Overall, I think Katya, Ola, Vincent, Kristina and Brendan are probably due a good celeb next year.
Personally I think Robin should be given a good partner to see what he can do with them next year. I think he has been able to give his celebrity partner confidence.

I think both Ola and James are good teachers but when you compare their choreography to Artem and Kristina - amazing. I guess it may have to do with the Russian training. I just loved Swan Lake and would love to see more - it really pushed the boundaries - and Kristina's Priscilla and Singing in the Rain. Incredible.

I like Anton and Erin but as someone previously said they are not so strong on the Latin and both seem to be getting duff celebs recently. I do agree with you about the pro dancers you mentioned getting good celebs next year. Let us just see.

Apart from being the best and most charismatic dancer on the show, Brendan has been fabulously co-operative and collegiate this season so what are you talking about.
