Can someone please explain what "ARC" is for. I know its something to do with HDMI 1.4 but I have no idea what it actually does. Thanks

Thanks for the link. so now I dont need an optical cable anymore. would it be all hdmi's in my TV that support this function or just the one ?. I have a Samsung UE55WKXXU 3D LED TV but it doesnt mention if all hdmi ports are ARC or not.

Thanks again

Both the TV and the amplifier have to be arc capable.

Is this something to do with the Bible?

May be but ,I suspect it's right back to Genesis. In the beginning etc. ARC and ARK and so on. Busy building a Ark in the garden expecting heavy rain ,

I suppose the big advantage of this for people in the UK is that it allows a compatible TV to send HE-AAC 5.1 to a compatible amp without having to transcode it to DD5.1.
