'Foundations' (S26 E17)
BBC One, 20:30 - 90 Minutes The newly re-furbished Emergency Department opens its doors for the first time since the devastating inferno, and the Staff are glad to be back. It's Staff Nurse Georgina Faraday's first day working at Holby City ED, but she soon puts Tess's nose out of joint, when she utilises her own knowledge instead of Tess's experience. Dixie and Jeff are seemingly left with the burden of teaching new Russian Emergency Medical Technician, Yuri basic english. But they later discover it was a wind-up. Also, Zoe Hanna is hesitant to step back into Resus after she nearly lost her life trapped in the blaze, but with comfort from socially awkward Dylan, she steps back into the fold of Emergency Department life. New Consultant, Jaqueline is late for her first day at work in the ED, as she is still fast awake in her hotel room. But, The Holby Inn is currently going through refurbishment, and when a Builder accidentally nudges the Scaffolding, the Ceiling collapses on top of the guests! As the debris from the hotel smashes to the pavement, Noel is walking past, and can't help but see an opportunity to be the hero and not the man who deals with paperwork - so rushes into the unstable building. Is he risking his life? As Nick Jordan gets wind of the building collapse, a rescue team is sent out, consisting of; Zoe, Dylan, Sam, Lenny, Linda and Scarlett. As Lenny splits from the rest of the team to find casualties, he finds an injured pregnant teenager, who goes into labour. Will the baby be okay? Inside the building, Jacqueline stumbles down to the ground floor, and as she attempts to exit the building, the ceiling collapses, blocking off the entrance, will Jacqueline escape? Outside, the atmosphere is awkward as Zoe, Dylan and Sam come together to save the teen mother and her child. Can they work out their differences to save the pair? Whilst searching for more casualties, Lenny bumps into Jacqueline, and its clear the pair have history. But, they put their differences aside in order to exit the building alive, but the ceiling collapses once again - landing on top of one of the two. Noel becomes a hero when he saves a pensioner from potential danger, and when he pulls Jacqueline to safety, The Holby Inn collapses - with Lenny still trapped under the ceiling! As the news of Lenny Lyons death reaches the ED, Nick is full of remorse for forcing Lenny to attend the accident. And as the ED cope with the tragic loss, an old face returns with more devastating news. |

Tally is the only Harper child to attend, as the rest are living in Canada with Harry's ex-wife, Beth. With Tess gone, Linda becomes acting Clinical Nurse Manager, and with little confidence with the help of Georgina's snide remarks, will Linda be able to prove herself better than last time? Nick welcomes Jacqueline into the Emergency Department, after she was injured in last weeks Hotel collapse. Dixie is stuck with the naive Yuri, something Jeff relishes in. But Dixie is left impressed when Yuri manages to resuscitate a infant who had chocked on a grape. Is this the beginning of a new paramedic partnership? The teen mother who was rescued by Lenny in last weeks serious incident, returns to the ED to pay respect at Lenny's memorial service. Nick Jordan tries his best to keep order in the chaotic Emergency Department, but things become even worse for the ED when a School Bus swerves a falling tree and subsequently becomes balanced on a cliff edge. As Nick has to lose members of his ED to deal with the situation, the demand beats the supply. With Dixie, Jeff and Yuri already on the scene of the Bus incident, they decide to attempt to free the terrified School children. When Dylan, Sam and Georgina arrive at the scene, Dylan orders Yuri to step away from the unstable bus, but its too late as Yuri is already in the bus. Maggie and Jacqueline put aside their differences to tend to the injured, and are soon paired together to save the life of a young boy. As the School children get of the Bus one by one, Yuri is unable to free the last kid and requires help, so Dylan volunteers himself for the duty. Pompous Dylan soon blames the baby's diet for the cause of the constant vomiting. Concerned about the baby's welfare, Maggie sneakily organises a CT scan behind Dylan's back, and it confirms Maggie's worst nightmare when it transpires that Baby Lenny has a benign tumour in his stomach preventing his food getting further than his oesophagus. Emergency surgery is required before Lenny dies of malnutrition, so Jac Naylor is enlisted to perform the sugery. Will baby Lenny survive? Georgina's brother Benjamin Morris also returns to the ED this week in a drunken state. He is uncontrollable as he blames the staff for the death of his daughter, Lily-Belle 2 weeks previous. Sam notices Dylan is avoiding her once again, and when Sam confronts the socially awkward doctor, he replies "I forgive, but never forget". Which leaves Sam's dreams of a reunion in shatters. As Benjamin fails to calm down, Nick Jordan orders him to be taken off the premisis, and as Benjamin is dragged out of the ED, he warns the ED hasn't seen the last of him. Meanwhile, Tess treats Cody, an avid skate border, who is keen to hide his hobby from his father. And, the Ambulance station is chaotic when Yuri brings his 5 year old son to work. Casualty EP Confirms Acid Attack Conclusion Near
Casualty executive producer has confirmed that the recent storyline arc of the Holby Acid Attacker will soon be brought to a conclusion. The past 2 episodes have focused solely on the acid attacks, but the next few episodes will move away from the acid attacks. But in March, the acid attacks will be revisited and brought to a conclusion. LittleMuffinz also confirmed the storyline will end with the departure of a ED staff member. But is it Sam, Yuri, Dylan, Linda, Jacqueline, Noel, Zoe or Charlie. It is a strong possibility it will be Noel, as Tony Marshall recently quit the BBC One medical drama. |

Thanks! Harry Harper's death was the first plot I decided on, as Harry was one of my favourites, and I met Simon MacCorkindale in my local Garden Center in 2005, he was buying a Christmas Tree with his wife Susan George, and they were such lovely people! After a chat I got both their autographs, and days later a lovely letter from their personal secretary. I was so happy! The autograph is on my wall to this day!
