Birds keep pecking each other
Hi
I have had 2 canaries for probably a month, and in the past week the one has started pecking the others feathers out. The cage is plenty big enough (its huge!) but the one does keep sitting in the food (although they do have there own food pot) Im looking to stop this behavior Thanks for any advice. |

Are they both boys?
I am not very familiar with canaries and will be happy to be corrected if wrong!! but a lot of birds are territorial and two males may fight - the extreme case being robins

The one sitting in the seed dish may well be going light and dying. the other one could be attacking it cos its ill.

Sorry to hear your news TheDJ
![]() I did some further reading after my previous posts and it seems canaries are better off on their own so don't worry about the one left, he'll be fine. |
