their latest album is their second big flop, they don't have a sell out arena tour and one member is pregnant. Plus Little Mix are looming on the horizon and have just got to #1 - it may be off the back of x factor but they've essentially accomplished what in 3 years The Saturdays never could. Their relationship with the general public is also lukewarm to cold - most people don't seem to like them because they seem like plastic dollies, I've heard them being called "fake" and unlikeable while the public seem to be mostly on Little Mix's side due to their friendly girl next door image. The Saturdays have been the UK's biggest girlband by default and it looks like LM will soon snatch that and have bigger success. What do you think?

I doubt they're 'over' so much, but I think it's very possible they'll be dropped in the near future. Frankie's heart doesnt seem to be in it so much anymore & with Una pregnant and about to be married I'm not sure how much longer she'll want to keep it up, so I'm guessing we might be seeing The Saturdays, but just in a different form in the future.

I think it may be the end unless they can retain the glory of if this isn't love and up, they really need to make songs like the former two because that is what made them

I don't know but with Frankie's illness and Una's pregnancy it could be the beginning of the end. Depends how well their next single sells I guess. I really hope they have another album and maybe a Hits album though. I love On Your Radar (latest album) though and have been listening to it a lot since it came out.

I hope they don't they could be bigger if they play their cards right and if they get a better record deal or if their label works with them better.

Hope they dont!

Not at all - they're very impressed with the performance of the album and looking forward to sellout arenas next year (I think they've leased half the space to Gala bingo)

With Mollie planning a move to India, Una preggers and Frankie all over the place they'll really have to work something out, maybe a hiatus for a couple of years?

Well the tour was pretty much sold out from what ive heard, my friends went to the wembley show and said it was completely packed, also Rochelle said on twitter that she couldnt wait for the next tour, so... I doubt it'll be ending soon, their'll have to take a few months off for Una but otherwise i dont see why they cant do more albums, its amazing how complete trash like that Little mix song can go straight to number one yet The saturdays great new album couldnt even get into the top 20, LM are a group of pretty bland girlies, they're still nice i guess, but The saturdays arent plastic at all, obviously people havent been taking the time to get to know them, which is a real shame.

All of LM have good strong singing voices, unlike The Saturdays, so i think LM will overtake them next year

After seeing them live last night, I was totally suprised by how good they were with their vocals and dancing but something just doesn't click with music listeners, I don't know if people feel threatened by then or what, I expect one more make or break album and if that fails then i'm afraid they are over..

I didnt say they couldnt sing, im impressed with how well they can sing, but the three best singers in The Saturdays (Vanessa, Rochelle and Una) are all better singers than any of Little Mix, actually, id say that the one with bright red hair in LM doesnt have a particularly strong voice, she's probably on par with Frankie or Mollie.

I think the Saturdays are far from over. yes their new album has not done as well as previous ones but i think thats down to the decision to release it when they did which was when a lot of christmas albums were coming out.

Yes Una is pregnant but the girls themselves have said they will be taking a small break but will carry on later next year.

And Its not Mollie planning to go to India, its actually her Boyfriend buying property there and wanting to possibly move their in the future with Mollie, Mollie has not said anything about moving to India and at the moment its just speculation so probably not true.

Little Mix, might be good, but that song was a very poor choice and not a patch on any of the Saturdays singles.

The only reason it was number 1 was because it was part of the X Factor, if they had started on their own back the song would have been lucky to make the top 40.

As for the Saturdays the plan is a think, 1 more song before Una has the baby then a rest etc for a bit, and don't believe everything in the papers about Mollie moving away and leaving the band.

Also as for the tour once again they were great ok, Frankie does not have the best voice and Mollie's is not great but as five it works together great.

I think there is still life in the sats yet, let me manage them, I'll get them to number 1

If that was the case then they could release a hits album next year while on their hiatus and then come back with a killer single and album that really should make No 1. I'm not too fussed about Little Mix at the moment but I'll reserve judgement til I hear their second single.

I think it's on the cards that the clock is tick tick ticking for them and the Sugababes to be honest.

I think with Girls Aloud off the scene and the changes in Sugababes line up they had an opportunity to have the field to themselves but for whatever reason it just hasn't happened.

A lot of artists are underperforming and they're one of them. With Little Mix new one the scene the media could lose intererst and that will be the final nail in the coffin.

Or perhaps Eurovision is the answer?

None of the Sats come close to Perrie.

I hope it's not the end for them. The latest album is very good and I've been playing it in the shop I and have had a few people ask me what it was. If people just heard them more they'd do better?

Does anyone actually know what the hill is going on with Frankie?

think youve nailed the reasons why they might not be around much longer.... i cant see them carrying on as they are, a hiatus? nah, dont think thatll work because theyve failed to be accepted by the general public.

ok, theyve lasted longer then i thought they would, but with precious little success in comparison to other girlbands, their days are surely numbered.

with little mix now gaining support/interest/fans i dont think the sats have a strong enough fan base to survive. think their time is up....(lol)

I've always liked them. They seem like a bunch of sweet women. But at the same time, I do feel that they are over. Many times when groups split up, it comes as quite a surprise. A band is doing fairly well, and suddenly a press release tells us that the group has disbanded.

But in the case of The Sats, there are many signs of them having run out of steam. And that is a bad thing. As many have already said, their sales have never been that good, and the members are pulled in different directions. They are still keeping up the appearance of unity and saying "we won't quit", but that's what all bands say right before they quit. And I can't see them coming back after a hiatus. They don't have enough people waiting for their return. I mean, people are still waiting for Girls Aloud to return, even though the chances for this appear slim. But if The Sats disappear for a while, they will be forgotten. Such a shame, such a shame.

I would be happy to speculate over why The Sats never got air under their wings, but that would be too long of a text. I have thought about it many times, and while I can pinpoint a few reasons, at the same time I feel quite baffled over their lack of success.

Nope, but she said a few weeks ago that she would open up about it in detail at some point. She said that she felt the fans deserved an answer.

their latest album is their second big flop
And what are you basing that on? The chart position rather than the sales, which is what actually matters more?

Their new album has almost sold the same amount in 4 weeks as their debut Chasing Lights did in 4 weeks, which eventually sold just shy of 400k. Whether they'll be able to salvage the era with a 4th single sharpish remains to be seen but I doubt it.

Saying that though, yes, the album has underperformed and I'm a big fan but I think they'll split sometime next year, which is a shame as they are genuinely talented (well, Una, Vanessa and Rochelle are, to me, anyway). They just don't connect with the general public anymore, for whatever reason. They do have each have a personality but they never manage to get it across in interviews or their videos. Just when you think they're finally going to explode/become bigger, they take two steps back again. That's literally their career summed up - two steps forward, then two steps back... frustrating being a Sats fan. Like waiting for a bus that never comes.

But I hate that there always has to be an unnecessary rivalry between girlbands. We're suffocated with 3 boybands, why can't we have 2 girlbands on the scene at the same time? I don't see why there needs to be endless comparisons when The Saturdays and Little Mix are clearly different groups from an image and sound perspective - Little Mix are more 'gritty' and 'youthful' and have said they want to go down the RnB/urban route. It's ok to like more than one girlband without feeling the need to put one down to big the other up! I like both Little Mix and The Sats.

And since 2008, they've sold 3 million records, had 10 top 10 singles and achieved 3 top 10 albums, which is reasonably impressive and nothing to slate.
