Impossible Princess is a great album! it seems people had written her off when Spinning Around came out though.

I agree... One of my favourite songs of hers is "Some Kind Of Bliss" and that missed the top 20!! Shocking!!

Didn't the album flop partly because it was released the same week that Princess Diana died? And people thought the name of the album was a little insensitive?

They had to hastily retitle it in the UK - it was known as "Kylie Minogue."

God knows why it flopped though - it is a real gem of an album.

I love the song Breathe. I don't think any single from that album went top 10

I don't know.Maybe people didn't take that sound very seriously.Maybe it seemed contrived.Maybe the label made some mistakes.I don't know. When she was flopping I was either 1 or 2 years old, so I don't remember All I know is that 'Confide In Me' is one of her best songs ever!

I was around 5-6 and my parents had the Kylie Minogue/Impossible Princess album I only found out it wasn't a successful time for her later on.

It was a very creative time for her.I think it would be much less interesting if she had just kept releasing safe pop hits Yes, she wasn't very successful during the 2nd half of the 90's, but she had some creative freedom and she challenged herself

Breathe is an amazing song. The whole deConstruction period was definitely her creative peak, and it really is a pity that it was relatively unsuccessful.

She flopped during the mid-90s because she went all 'indie'. Her fans, including me, like her doing pop / dance.

I have got a pop / dance remix of 'Breathe' (her only decent song from the mid-90s) which is great.

It flopped in most countries because it was different to what the majority of her fanbase and the general public expected and wanted from her. Australia is where it achieved its biggest success on the charts and with the subsequent tour. It's still one of her most well-received albums and got a paticuarly glowing review from Billboard magazine. "Some Kind of Bliss", "Jump", "Say Hey", "Breathe" and "Limbo" are some of my favourite Kylie songs.

I think it's an album Kylie wanted to make and she wanted to do it for herself. Stephane Sednaoui had really opened her up to other artists who inspired her and her creativity. She was involved more in that album than any before and any since. The visuals and the photography was also stunning during this period.

Her Deconstruction material is her best. "Take MeWith You" is one hell of a good song.

She has never looked more amazing than she did in her 'Put Yourself In My Place' video.

you have got to remember she had already faded from view when 'Impossible Princess' came out, 'Confide In Me' was a no2 in 1994, but then there was a 3 year gap to Impossible Princess.

Her next UK top 10 of course wasn't until Spinning Around in 2000.

Overall i dont think Kylie was interesting for me until Fever....THAT was when i could say....yeah i like Kylie! You know?

I do love COnfide In Me though! But i hate her S/A/W era BAR Devil You Know. And i dont like her 90s output bar COnfide In Me, Breathe and Put Yourself In My Place....i feel she hd an identity crisis which meant people couldnt relate to her and also the commercial performance matched it really.

But then with that kinda Disco/Electropop movement etc and a fresh take on her campy/girl-next-door image meant she could be commercial, be successful and bring some new fans on for the ride as well as her original fanbase....if they are still interested And her 00s Decade has been her most successful for hits and tours i think too

Fever, Body Language and APhrodite are such guilty pleasures for me and actually are really exciting Dance Pop records

Anyone remember her duet with Nick Cave? I think that was during her "flop" era but I really liked it

What, even 'Shocked' and 'What Do I have To Do?'? WDIHTD in particular is one of the best songs she or SAW have ever done.

Yeah, i bought her Hits album she released in 2004 in 2006 i think and Disc 1 i really got tired of.

And i do actually like What Do I Have To Do too actually....it is similer to Devil isnt it with some of the light New Jack Swingy kinda vibes isnt it?

And i forgot about Where The WIld Roses grow with Nic Cave i like that too

For me, her SAW period and her 00s plus era are my favourites. Pop Kylie / dance Kylie / electro Kylie - love it.

Rhythm of Love is a fantastic pop/dance album. "Better the Devil You Know", "Step Back in Time", "What Do I Have to Do" and "Shocked" are great tracks and the best run of singles from one album she's had. I love her look during 1990-1992 when she sexed up her image.

"Finer Feelings" is my favourite Kylie song.
