Madonna's Confessions. It got me into more-abstract dance music.

Here's a few I remember:

Rachel Stevens - Come And Get It
Atomic Kitten - The Collection
The Pussycat Dolls - PCD
Liberty X - X
Sugababes - Taller In More Ways (some of my favourite 'Babes singles were from that album)

I was also going to suggest Britney's In The Zone but I think that came out in 2003/2004. B In The Mix came out in 2005 though but I didn't buy it.

Kanye West's Late Registration, The Game's The Documentary and Mariah Carey's The Emancipation of Mimi. They're the ones that immediately spring to mind, but in general from what I remember 2005 was a good year for music.

Songs For Silverman!
There's a program on BBC Three just now about weddings that had Landed playing while the couple were getting wed. I'm guessing they just liked the piano and hadn't paid attention to the words.

Chemistry was arguably Girls Aloud's best album and it was a concept album which made it unique for girlbands, it really showed how they matured their sound and brought it to another level. One of my favourite albums of all time.

OP should retitle this the best "pop" albums of 2005, Jesus!

Yeah. Odd choice.
They must be the sort of folk who would play the Police Every Breath You Take at a wedding too.

I love Late. The Elliott Smith tribute that could have been about anyone except for the one line where he talks about Elliott playing basketball.

Yeah I was thinking the same, not a lot that has been mentioned would ever make my list. But that's the beauty of music I suppose, each to their own.

Totally agree. Works on both levels, whether you knew of Elliott Smith or not.
