True, but only one genre has been represented.

Yes! I was thinking of that album when I saw the thread but I definitely wasn't expecting anyone else to mention it here Like most BoC fans, I know it's not quite as amazing as their first two albums, but it's still a supreme, thought-provoking work of magic.

Also, Madonna's Confessions... and Goldfrapp's Supernature

Me too, bloody love them!

I agree that The Campfire Headphase doesn't quite have the same vibe as their other two official album releases, and maybe feels a little bit stale in comparison, but is still an incredible thing nonetheless.

Fingers-crossed that 2012 will see the new album, at last!

If fans from other genres of music posted if would help. It's not the OP's fault that DS is ruled in majority by pop fans.

Yeah I know what you mean, I wouldn't say it was their best but still well worth a listen.

Likewise I've only come across 1 or two other Boards of Canada fans on these forums. There are probably more, but BoC aren't the sort of act who get discussed often on forums such as this, so it's not easy to find out.

I do love The Campfire Headphase though, almost as much as I love Geogaddi personally (Music Has the Right to Children will always be my favourite). It's a different kind of experience - whereas the first two albums are like being taken on a mind-bending journey through a different world, TCH takes me out of that world and into a much more serene, peaceful and familiar place, if that makes sense.

It would be amazing to have a new album from them next year, but with the guys being so reclusive, it's impossible to tell Especially with it being so long since their last release, which was the Trans Canada Highway EP in 2006
