Olay Regenerist causing bumps?
mrslovethechang

I got a bottle of Olay Regenerist Serum at a low price a couple of week ago. I haven't used a moisturiser for a while and this seemed like a decent brand to try. I used it morning and night for about 4 days and then started to notice little bumps appearing on my forehead and chin. They are flesh coloured, not noticable really but they seem really obvious to me. I've stopped using the Regenerist and now just wash with my cleanser which is a Clean & Clear foaming wash for sensitive skin.

Has anyone else has a reaction the regenerist range? I'm wondering if it is actually the serum or if it could be the facial wash instead. I've also just started using Olay complete care night cream which seems fine - it isn't making my skin worse anyway.

I get the same reaction from some face products. I stay away from Nivea Q10 and all Clinique products as I can end up with little bumps all over my face too. It's an allergic reaction, so best take it back , if it's Boots, they will refund you no problem, same as for the designer brands, they will always give you your money back if you have an allergic reaction. I haven't tried Olay but I do use any Boots No 7, Garnier, Loreal or Clarins with no reaction. If trying new brands, always try for a small sample first.

I get Milia (littlewhite/flesh toned spots with some creams. I was always told at college that they can sometimes happen with creams that have mineral oil in (which alot do). I changed to using Pure A by Garnier and it's solved the problem for me.

Dunno if this helps if you wanted to look out for ingredients:-

This was found on a web site about mineral oil.

"Excessive doses of mineral oil can cause eczematous dermatitis, contact dermtatitis, folliculitis, oil acne and melanosis"

Am now off to check my own creams again!

Thank you for the replies. It looks as if it was the regenerist that was causing it, it hasn't gotten any worse since I stopped, but then I can't say it has completely gone away either. I think i'm going to find myself going through a few different brands to find the best one for me. At least I now know the types of things that could cause a reaction so I can try and avoid them.

Thank you!
