The Saturdays' deserve more credit.

Sorry for another Sats-related thread, But the one 'Are they over?' - Is just another thread for people to bash them for everything they've done wrong.

People are saying 'Their hearts aren't in it anymore' - Well were you at one of the arena dates? I was at Wembley, and they all broke down. If anything, They're a closer group of friends, All hugging Una on stage, Referencing how excited they are about the '6th saturday' nearly every 5 minutes.

To come from NOTHING 3 years ago, No high profile performances, Didn't come from a talent show e.g. Girls aloud, little mix), and being able to play wembley is pretty good. Yes, Albums may have flopped, but to of have 11 top 10 singles is pretty incredible. Especially when Girl Bands have a tougher time as girls often find them a threat, and well, they can't fancy every member can they? *cough* The Wanted.

These performances make me so proud of them, and what they've achieved.

I don't think they're going anywhere. They still sell singles, and are capable of selling the majority of (OK, Half curtained off) Arena's. I was pretty impressed of how much of Wembley they'd sold. So where they I think, you could tell.

I agree, I love the group no matter if they flop or not, as long as they are happy and continue to make music that i enjoy then thats all i care about.

i dont get this thread.... why simply not post on the thread posing the question 'are the sats over'?.. it was an open question, not a statement and people have responded in a reasonable way why they think the sats future looks tentative. sorry if this upsets you as a fan, but the possibility that theyll split is a real one.

the bottom line is this, theyll exist as long as their investors are making a decent return and if they want to continue. we dont know the facts, so its open to speculation.

It's clear that the girls have a lot of chemistry, and that they all get along, which is great to see. I also think they deserve credit for just how far they've come as vocallists (apart from Vanessa), with Mollie especially being a million times better than when they first came out.

At the very least, whatever happens they've recorded two of the best pop singles of recent times - Up & Higher, and they'll always be remembered for that.

These are indeed excellent songs, which still sound fresh and radio-friendly today. They have released a few other songs like Issues which are classics in their own right.

As so many such pop groups disappear/ flop after 1 or 2 singles they have done well to have so many hit singles and albums during the last 3 years.

I don't see why they deserve more credit - have they suddenly starting writing good music?

they are awesome. they've worked really really hard and are organically getting better and bigger. this year seen their first arena tour, and their biggest first-week single sales for All Fired Up.

people just think they should be alot bigger "cos its been four years". Just cos loads of other bands use X Factor to shoot them to dizzy heights really soon doesnt mean The Saturdays will do the same.

they're in it for the long haul. these 4 years and 4 albums and 3 tours is just the groundwork!!

The truth is, they're just not good enough.

I hate to use comparisons but in the case i'll have too. With groups like Spice girls and girls aloud, they all have individual songs and image. They have a more all-round appeal I think is what I mean. Whereas the saturdays are yet to have that single that will define them, they won't be memorable in 10 years is what I mean.

I'm not slating them, i'm just saying it how it is. Their latest album flopped to the nines despite having a really great single from it ("All Fired Up") and they don't produce exciting material. I know the die-hard fans will disagree but say the saturdays have been away for a while and it is announced their new single is getting first release to radio next week, who really is excited or bothered?

The truth is, they came around at a bleak time for girl bands (girls aloud were just finished around the end of 2008/beginning of 09) and they have (somehow) managed to last this long. They are past their sell-by date.

That is not to say they aren't nice girls or do crap hits, but sometimes things will work, and things won't. And no matter who disagrees with me, I think Una being pregnant really has thrown a spanner in the works as far as the girls future is concerned.
