Skype problem
I have a motorla xoom (android 3.2) and am trying to skype my brother in law who is on a pc using win7.
We can see each other status as online, but if I ring to him all i get is a black screen where he should be and the small white square ir the corner thats also black where I should be and I cannot hear him at all, he says he can hear me fine, but can only see himself in the small square and the main screen is also black. Its the same if he tries to start the video call. Can anyone offer any advice?? My mic is obv ok as he can hear me, and my camera is working fine when tested with other apps.. It does say when I sign in that skype is not certified for my device but will still work ok. |

Are you using the most recent version on Skype? The Xoom is apparently supported from version 2.5.

Motorola Xoom should be running the Honeycomb version of Android, which is why you face this issue, since it is not certified for the Skype app.
However video viewing is possible with Honeycomb. Simply enable the video calling feature from the video settings. Follow these steps, if you do not know how- Open the Skype app and click on the option "Menu" in the list available on the left side bottom corner. Tap settings on the popup available on the bottom center of the screen. Now on the next screen, navigate to video settings and enable video calling. Now you should be able to start the video conversation using Skype. |
