But he's done phenomenonally well for an unsigned act with only his YouTube and Twitter fanbase to promote the song. Even making top 40 would be a huge achievement, let alone top 5 (he's #4 at the moment!)”
He's put a lot more effort into it this time -- released 12 versions of the track, a video a day leading up to "Forever Day", a spot on Radio 1, etc. I think previously he just kind of assumed his and SoA's (particularly Charlie's) fanbases would make it happen without him having to do too much. Learned his lesson and this time he's actually worked for it. I mean, let's face it -- out of the lot of them, Alex has the biggest ego. It was nice to see him put that aside and be more realistic about what he needed to do to make it happen.
