The race for Christmas No.1 in the UK ended at lunchtime yesterday.
Try again next year.

But #2 is still on at least, right?

If the point is to embarrass syco, then you'd be better buying the donkey song, as it's got a shot of getting 2, pushing Little Mix to 3.

Ooh Alex Day catching up, but that is poor sales from Pick 'N Mix or whatever they're called.

People get their pay on Friday so I still think #2 is possible, despite the 38k gap.

Why Nirvana? That is an overrated song by an overrated band.

Can people please support this song? It's a charity song raising money for 10 UK charities with NO RECORD COMPANY backing. Despite being chosen to front ITV's "Text Santa" campaign, Mainstream Radio are (once again) shunning this 'traditional' Christmas song (a CHARITY song for Pete's sake!) As a result, downloads have been severely affected meaning less money raised for the charities the song is supporting.

You can view more on: http://www.itv.com/textsanta/news/florin-street-band/

of visit the Florin Street Band website:- www.florinstreet.com

Pls support this song & pass this onto all your friends! Merry Christmas.

Do you REALLY think that everyone who gets paid Friday would prefer that over the others? Get real, it aint gonna happen.

Just because you don't like someone doesn't make them overrated.

2 years ago, Rage Against The Machine had more downloads in the last 10 hours of the sales week than the rest of the week put together, so I'm still believing.

Where's the dislike button on that page?

Frankly I view these campaigns in pretty much the same way as all forms of begging.

Yeah, but if X-Factor didn't rule the roost at Christmas then people wouldn't have to take such drastic measures to stop them getting to number 1.

I hate the fact that they (Simon Cowell & X-Factor) have killed the Christmas No 1. I mean, WHY do they have to have X-Factor on at the same time EVERY year? Isn't that SAYING something? Cowell is basically saying "I want the Christmas No 1 every year and all the other songs can sod off!"

I've been supporting the Florin Street Bands bid to re-ignite support for a TRUE Christmas song but they get no support as record companies bow down to X-Factor.

X-Factor should do the decent thing for once and run the show so that it finishes in JULY. I don't think anyone would give a damn then if they were number 1 then!

Nirvana were at 6 in yesterday's midweeks. If they stay there or are higher at least they'll beat their 1991 peak of No.7.

RATM had sold 306K by the Friday. By sunday it had sold 502K. Thats 196K in the last 3 days.
So more in the last 10 hours is clearly wrong.

i read somewhere(not saying any truth in it)

that rage against the machine and the nirvana song are published by companies associated with Cowell....these campaigns are probably started by him to make even more money

2 Little Mix
3 Lou Monte
4 Alex Day (13k ahead)
5 Coldplay
6 Olly Murs
7 Lloyd
8 Nirvana

Cowell can do what he wants. Tv Scheduling would dictate that the show cannot finish in July when lots of people are on holiday.
