Don't know if its a one off or permanent, but just noticed on my Foxsat HDR that pressing the "Guide" button that the EPG pops straight up with sound and picture still playing in background.

One less moan.......................................

It has always done that if it was already up to date. Or more likely, if there is a recording in progress.

Pressing guide requires tuner 1 for the new epg download. If it's recording then the tuner is not available so the cached epg is instantly displayed. You can display the cached epg instantly at any time by pressing the schedule button followed by the red button.

Mine has never done that, if I press guide right after its downloaded, it downloads a whole new epg again.

The only time its instant is if you are recording or watching something, however try setting a timer while watching and then you get in real trouble.

I set recordings while watching one I recorded earlier or in chasing playback at least 2 or 3 times a week. Never had any problems.
