What would you do with The Saturdays?

I cannot stand when one track under performs and then the label stops the campaign, so...

Single #4: Faster, #5: Promise Me, #6: Get Ready, Get Set

Simple. The Saturdays are single sellers. Their first album sold loads on a fluke and a strange pop-craze in the album charts (e.g. Pixie Lott, JLS, etc.) so if the label keeps expecting this it's silly. Their singles are their trademark. If each of those singles sold around 200,000 (Too optimistic?) then the approx. single sales for the On Your Radar era would be around one million. That's something!
There's life in this album yet. It suffered from being overshadowed by the Christmas regulars, and the whole group drama (Una's pregnancy and Frankie's part-time membership).

[quote=I'mNotorious;55447543]I would do either of the following:

Release a Greatest Hits. /QUOTE]

They haven't released enough good material to fill a greatest hits album IMO. Only All Fired Up, Forever Is Over & Notorious are good. The rest are just throwaway pap.

The fact that you like 2 of their singles this year suggests you think the Saturdays are improving. While I do not agree that many of their songs are throwaway pap, I am glad you like Forever is Over. It is one of my 4 faves of theirs, and yet quite a few Saturdays fans are not so keen on it.

If a Greatest Hits was released it probably should have some new songs, like Britney's My Prerogative. Or they could call it a Singles Collection (similar to what Sugababes did). In fact Overloaded had two new songs on it and Britney had three.

In that case I would miss out on meeting them as I often use the self-service checkouts!

I have occasionally heard Saturdays songs played in Asda stores. You can run but you can't hide!

Do many students shop in Asda?

Best not! Would be too much information!

I would show Mollie the door. She is as useful in the group as a wet paper bag. No one would even know she was gone.
I would also consider Vanessa's position.
They would have a much better chance working as a trio.

lol, they were never checkout girls. They are from a middle class background with a good education, some of them even got a job as a junior pop band with a fair degree of success after attending stage school. Another was a member of the UK sking team as a teenager.

I was reading their book (The Saturdays: Our Story) and each member talked about their backgrounds and what did they did before The Saturdays. I found it interesting but then I'm a fan.

I think they should release a good single choice from this album, with a AMAZING video (by which I mean innovative and something that doesn't seem cliché and cheap) then they should keep promoting everywhere they can and then release the single in Europe with a rapper remix (and a good/hot rapper) and promote, this will give them a good Europe footing.

Then they should release another single and hope it gets number 1.

Their next album should be 2013.

'Up' was a great second single and then 'Issues' was a fantastic pop song!! It felt like they were growing as a band. They had their own identity and started to have a unique sound as well. Each track they released was getting better and better and they were going in a good direction and started to show progression. 'Work' was then supposed to have been released and it would have been a huge hit for them...they even started to promote it. But then their label scrapped it and made them release 'Just Can't Get Enough' for Children In Need which was horrific...they came across as just as your average cheesey, pop girl band. They then went back and released 'Work' next, but the promotion was all over the place and the video was released so late.

Now instead of forgetting about the last two releases and going back to the kind of music of their first three singles which was working well, they made a major cock up and went in a completely different direction for album two. They started to go all dance pop. 'Forever Is Over', 'Missing You'...awful. Then they released 'Higher' with a bloody rapper featured on it. WTF were their label thinking?!!

Then their latest album is another step further to full on dance. It's ridiculous. Their label are terrible. Their first three singles are the best in my opinion. Mistakes were made after that!!”

I don't agree at all. Higher is an amazing song and video with some great dance moves and lyrics. The problem now I think is that their latest album is too toned down in terms of their style.

Replace the ladies in the group one by one with even worse singers, but still keep the name 'The Saturdays' so I don't have to bother re-branding them.

... What? What do you mean this has already been done!?

Their fans were raving about how amazing the video for My Heart Takes Over video was going to be just coz it was shot in Iceland.
What we got was an M&S commercial!

They're done. They never took off properly.

Get the girls on Strictly, CBB, I'm a celeb, cameos (or short stints) in Hollyoaks then add 4 new songs to a 'collection' for October 2012. If it sells less than platinum call is quits. If by some miracle it does, get new material on the go straight away - try and get the Comic Relief 2013 single, big summer single, new album.

LOL thats exactly what i thought, such a terrible video. Their worst IMO.

And MY Heart Takes Over should have never been a single, the song wasn't right for them, they should have released another uptempo song as 'All Fired UP' was their biggest hit.

I don't see why everyone is worrying, their album charted badly as the previous single wasn't right and it was a bad week for them.

They are just as good as before.

Their sound and direction is the problem. I loved Chasing Lights album but they went completely different and changed into manufactured predictable crap music. Some of it's okay but the albums is not the style of music I fell in love with from them.

I have both versions of Higher but I prefer the version from Headlines to the single version. It's a good catchy summer song though. The video is a good fun one.

She's their lead singer and the best singer in the group.
