Gaga v Adele RE:Grammys AOTY
Kyliefan001

I think it's going to come down to Gaga and Adele in the Album of the Year category!

Although Adele has had more sales than Gaga, I think BTW will win in a very close vote! There could even be a first in the category, a tie!

I think the voters love Adele but will want to make up for the big mistake two years ago, re:the The Fame losing out to TS!

Well, that's my opinion! What's yours?

if adele loses people will think shes been cheated. i dont think either deserve to win. they didnt have full 5 star ratings by critics. kanye wests my DBTfantasy did. so he's been robbed. many times for AOTY. and watch the throne too. beyonce's 4 was one of the best, if not the best contemporary r&b album of 2011 and was featured in the top 5 of many high profile magazines/sites top albums of 2011 list but the grammys snubbed it.

[On a side note:

regardless of how many grammys she has. so if stevie wonder won the grammy for AOTY in 1974 (innervisions) and then was nominated for AOTY again with fulfilingness' first finale in 1975, should he not win because he won last year? (just answering a question people bring up about beyonce and her grammy wins. - and most of them were for contemporary/r&b performance/album/song so people cant complain - she makes some of the best (if not the) contemporary r&b post the golden age of r&b (the 90s).]

i think adele will sweep the board. not that she's nominated for many grammys. why did they take out the male/female vocal performance? that means gaga could win for the overall song if you put in a better vocal and she didnt (no shade on gaga -great voice - just an example). same for r&b - removing traditional r&b and contemporary and fusing them together? beyonce and jill scott make good albums but cant compete, the music is completely different (as is any other nomination in another category) but the r&b is different. one's traditional and the others modern! silly grammy committee! i know theyre trying to make the awards more competitive but it looks ridiculous!

I think Adele will win all of the awards she's nominated for. I'd be hugely surprised if 21 doesn't win Best Album.

The Grammys can be very unpredictable when they want to be, remember. It's not about who is the "obvious" win. They like to throw curve balls to appear as a separate, unbiased entity that isn't dictated to by popularity or success.

I do agree that it's BTW vs. 21, though. Unless, of course, they REALLY troll everyone.

That said, I'd be very surprised if 21 didn't get it. After Arcade Fire receiving the "WTF?!" response last year, I doubt they'd snub Adele. Although, I doubt if BTW won there'd be major outcry...it's the underdog, but hardly an out of left field choice.

They're both deserving anyway, so go for it ladies.

BTW is crap though so Lady Gaga will not win.

Well I like both albums although I prefer Born This Way overall but even taking the Grammys unpredictable nature into consideration I still think Adeles going to win this one.

As a massive Adele fan, my worry isn't Born This Way but Wasting Light. If the Grammys do decide to go the unexpected route IMO it will be The Foos that take AOTY not Gaga. But to be honest, by not nominating Mr West they do seem to have taken the decision to get the controversy out of the way BEFORE the event so that to me suggests they are clearing the way for '21' to win. I think the big thing in Adele's favour (apart from the fact she's basically rescued the industry this year and it is a great album) is she won Best New Artist in 2009 and the Committee will probably want to pat themselves on the back for their 'foresight'.

Kanye will win AOTY, it's a masterpiece that has pretty much gone unnoticed over here unlike in the US, he's certainly in pole position to win it

He isn't nominated.

Adele is a shoe-in for it. US seem to be mad for her.

He would make history in that case as he isn't even nominated for AOTY

Of course Adele will win even I'd be annoyed if she didn't and it's not just between them two, Bruno Mars also has a shot I think
