Not judging so much on the song (although that has to come into it a little) but what where your fave music videos of 2011?

The black keys – lonely boy
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_426RiwST8
sometimes bad dancing is more entertaining than somthing slick and professional

Rihanna – we found love
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tg00YEETFzg
looks really cool. like a movie

Pharoahe monch – clap (one day)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VG_iDZbSZ3I
A bit long but well made and very moving

Justice – civilisation
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVq2yMuAMVQ
I like the visuals of this with all the bison falling down a mountain

Bruno mars – Lazy song
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fLexgOxsZu0
Not overly keen on the song but I like the video its weird and is well thought out

Tyler the creater – yonkers
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSbZidsgMfw
very arty, man turns into a bug and hangs himself, what more could you ask for

Not very inspired choices I know, but We Found Love and Levels immediately sprang to mind

I know this will be an unpopular choice, but I really like the Beat Of My Drum video. I think visually its perfect and I love the clothes and the choreography.

Will Young's video to Come On is amazing too. That's my other favourite of the year. I don't really watch many music videos though, so I'm probably missing loads of good ones out.

Foster the People - Call It What You Want

Golden Fists? Talking Bacon? David Walliams?
Works for me!

Lykke Li - I Follow Rivers
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZYbEL06lEU&ob=av2e

I just love the winter setting of this video.

Maps and Atlases - Israeli Caves.... It's just so cute!

Battles - My Machines... Great concept.

Lana Del Rey - Video Games.... Beautiful woman looking beautiful!

St. Vincent - Cruel... Great storyline and acting.

Lykki Li - Sadness Is a Blessing... Again, great acting and story!

Arcade Fire - Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awHWColYQ90&ob=av2n
Stunning camera work/technology/imagery

Lenny Kravitz - Stand
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X100qe-TnpQ&ob=av2e
Think of doing a goofy gameshow concept inspired by both Outkast - Hey Ya & Katy Perry - Last Friday Night. Very funny.

John Grant - (I Wanna Go To) Marz
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mzWQSabtWLs
Ghostly, and very haunting nostalgic video.

The Lonely Island ft Michael Bolton - Jack Sparrow
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GI6CfKcMhjY
One of the most boring, serious self-absorbed pop stars of the 1990s proves he has an hilarious sense of humour.

Duran Duran - Girl Panic!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSMbOuNBV0s
The 80s New Romantics have never looked better thanks to this ultra stylish video starring 5 late 1980s/early 1990s supermodels as Duran Duran.

I thought Dr Dre - I Need A Doctor's video was very moving, especially the beginning. Levels was very good too.

Although it was released WAY back in February, BLOW by Ke$ha is insane. She set the bar after her previous videos have been less than great (apart from the Take It Off K$ and Friends version video). Hoping she keeps that level when her new album comes out next year.

However, I've also LOVED Judas (Gaga), We Found Love (Rihanna) and surprisingly Last Friday Night (Katy Perry)

Duran Duran - Girl Panic! - For being too damn awesome.
Lady Gaga - Marry the Night - For being really entertaining.
Arcade Fire - Sprawl II - Amazing poignancy and lovely camerawork.
Britney Spears - Criminal - For the kitsch factor.
The Black Keys - Lonely Boy - Just really cool.

There haven't been that many videos this year that I can genuinely say stand out for me.

I think Lady GaGa has done some decent videos, one or two have been too long for me personally but I like how she makes an effort, rather than get bored after the first few and resort to using tour footage or simialr. I quite liked Judas.

Same with Katy Perry - not her biggest fan but quite liked E.T and The One That Got Away videos

My favourite video (although the single is not released until end of January) is Lana Del Rey - Born To Die (should warn you that its a bit gory towards the end if you click on the link)

Dr Dre - I Need A Doctor was good from what I can remember as well, but not really watched the music channels that much recently.

^^^ This! The first time she gets any sort of budget for a video (to be fair i think the budget was VERY decent ) and she nails it. Beautifully filmed, surprisingly well acted (maybe she will eventually go into films), and very affecting video all round. All helped, of course, by an absolute stellar song.

Another vote for Girl Panic. There was an article on it in this month's Harpers Bazarr - all very glam.

Yes, although I do prefer the promotional lyric version. Have you seen their video for Virgin? It was fan made but it's so well done.
